| That is a tough one since he has been losing ok on that diet. If it has been warm maybe he needs more water? Maybe you need to add some more veggies? Seems to be fairly common that when people "stall", adding veggies (or moving to OWL rung 1) seems to help. It helped me. As did rung 2 (dairy). Just a thought. Keep in mind everyone loses at a different rate. I do know it is frustrating and confusing though. I am sure one of the moderators will have some other ideas for you. Hang in there! Jane |

| The sodium content of his foods is very high, so it could be water retention. Also, he's short 1-2 cups of veggies each day. Also, I haven't run your items through fitday (since I don't know the amounts), but it's possible he's not eating enough.

| hi.. 3 eggs in real butter.. 3 strips of bacon... no cheese lunch... naked chicken wings about 6 wings... 2 deviled eggs.. 5 black olives one string cheese, celery about 6, 3 inch sticks with 2 tlbs cream cheese about a cup of pork rinds. 2 lettace sandwiches with mustard... deli turkey... mozz cheese... using only half slice for both... dinner... turkey sausage.. this may be the culprit.. last two nights.. it was sauted in real butter... fresh bacon drippings... with olive oil.. green and red peppers with fresh mushrooms... the sausage has no carbs...no sugar.. but looking at label says dextrose.. but this has not bothered him before.. tons of water.. plus walking last 3 nights... it was real hot and muggy here... thanks.. Lia

| There may be nothing going on but real life We never lose weight in an even manner, and though the male of the species does not have the same hormonal fluctuations as we lucky females do, he is not guaranteed to lose weight at the same rate throughout his Atkins journey ![]() Have you read this interesting post from one of our former moderators? http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ot-linear.html (Weight loss is not linear) Her post and the info in the link she gives at the end of her post might reassure you a bit.

| Lia, I think you've already got some good advice. Try not to worry to much. Weighing everyday can make us crazy! There will always be fluctuation. Just one note...I'm a big believer that we should spread our veggies out through the day - even breakfast. Good luck! Sounds like he's doing really well! |

| I think its probably water. Is he picking up anything extra at school? My daughter is in a special school. Kids can sometimes give her extras. She has high functioning autism and she loves food. She hit 194 at 5'7". I didn't do Atkins with her because of school foods. I just make sure she gets one snack and dinner. I stopped letting her eat cerial and got her grits and oatmeal in serving sized pouches. She was loosing some before school started. I only make her get on the scales once a week so we'll see how school food is agreeing with her. I wouldn't worry much about the scales going up some. Don't change the menu since he's been fine on it, just wait and see.

The veggies are of utmost importance. I'll stall for 4 days if I go 2 days without them.

| the deili turkey sounds bad it may have sugar in it and the sodium sounds high cut out the string cheese and add another egg instead cause string cheese normally has 1 carb each same as an egg and maybe cut out the cream cheese too and switch the mushrooms for broccoli also is he eating enough? remember when your overweight your body has a higher upkeep so it needs to eat more and obesity is a diseased state so eating lots of healthy food heals the body so in short make sure hes never hungry eating to much fiber or magnesium vitamins may drain alot of the nutrients from him or maybe his stomach may be damaged and only able to absorb half the nutrients i have exp'd that with my gut illnesses in the past it took 6 months on atkins to cure my gut but i had to eat ALOT of food just so i could absorb a healthy amount also was he ok walking? when i was overweight i was embarrassed to wear normal clothes when i walked so i wore thicker shirts that made me extremely overheat and very sick so make sure hes not over heating when he gos on the walks and also i find endurance cardio walks etc are not very good at draining glucose from your muscles you should try geting him to a gym and working all his muscles with weights and such and get a trainer for him to work all his muscles that will drain glucose much more effectively than a 2 hour walk try and build muscle on him muscle is a great way to lose fat and maybe get him a chin up bar they are nice and easy to get but also his weight gain is prob just water if hes been doing the same things then its just water has he been doing the 100% same things? |
