| Since you aren't giving up carbs on day 1 of your new induction, I'm not sure that you will see typical induction results. I would not use either induction to gauge metabolic resistance since induction #1 wasn't clean (I'm assuming) and induction #2 is really extended induction. I have no experience, maybe someone else out there has done this... Congrats on your new commitment to doing Atkins the right way, for life!

| I am not sure what you did the first 14 days but have no fear you will still be fine. Very few us manage to get it quite correct the first time. So keep going. Good job on buying DANDR. What will be your biggest change from how you did "induction" the first time till how you'll do it now with DANDR?

| The biggest change that I need to make is cutting out sweeteners. I drank Crystal lite for the first week before I found out it was a detriment to many. I cut that out the second week but tried a Sugar Free whitmans sampler which had high sugar alcohol levels. For some reason (lack of preparation) I thought that the Net Carb equation was: Carbs - sugar alcohols - fiber = net carbs. Then, after eating nearly the entire box I was informed that most people absorb the carb content from sugar alcohols and not to follow that equation. On top of it all - I drank michelob ultra - which I knew was off the induction list but I felt I had blown the diet already and allowed that to be my justification. I feel like the issues are snowballing and will lead to my throwing my hands in the air in defeat. So this is why I have gone out to get the book and become educated and to restart the whole process. Do you think I might want to revert to eating carbs for a couple of days before starting induction again; to put my body back in to the initial shock of less carbs? I don't want to gain back the pounds I lost the first time around (8 lbs) Thanks for any advice

| NOOOO - don't eat carbs - just keep going. You are already on the journey. Don't let your mind play any (more) tricks with you. It is time to saddle in.

| As Liv said - keep going, don't go back to eating carbs...that never does anyone any good (regardless of what they think). Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars. Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), start exercising and take a multi-vitamin daily. Good luck.

| Think of it as a learning process... Every day you become a more educated atkineer! Don't think of it as two weeks this, 20 carbs that... Just take it one day at a time and try to do the best you can each day... By the way, 8 lbs is a perfect induction weight loss, be proud of that! |
