I don't know how they do things over at Atkins.com but Dr. Atkins wrote there are 3 ways to do Pre-Maintenance. 1. Like OWL,but add 10 net carbs, 2. Eat your OWL menu and add 20 net carbs two to three times a week, 3. Or a type of "Weight WAtchers points system" where you figure out your weekly carb intake and make sure you eat that amount by the week's end. So other than the gallon of ice cream, the rest of your menu was okay for Pre-Maintenance.

| In light of some threads on the board lately, I just want to clarify this for everyone reading this thread. The paragraph I wrote about the 3 ways to do Pre-Maintenance, only applies to Pre-Maintenance. Not Induction. Not "extended" Induction. Not OWL. Only to Pre-Maintenance. I don't want to give anyone the false impression that it says somewhere in the book, that Induction or OWL can be done like that. Again, what I wrote only applies to Pre-Maintenance Phase.

| Cindi, cindi, cindi. Pull yourself together and get the head out of that tub !!! Now It seems to me like you need to take responsibility for your own choices. You are using your bf as an excuse. I am sure he did not make you eat anything. Hope you have a great day today. May need to do a couple of days of induction foods to settle yourself and your cravings.

| You are getting to the point of "this is for life" thinking. You can't let any slip throw you off track for more than a day or two. You're almost THERE! Unless BF actually held you down and forced ice cream down your throat, he is not at fault for you deciding to eat the whole tub. He might not be helping matters, but these kinds of temptations will keep happening. It's much easier when we are in induction where we have strict rules to go by for every little part of the 'diet.' In pre-maintenance we have to start thinking for ourselves and taking responsibility for what we choose to put in our mouth. We no longer have Dr. Atkins safety net under us to fall back on. Keep reminding yourself that you are now in control, no one else. You could make a list of benefits of sticking strictly to the plan. You have done sooooo well. Put a copy on the fridge and read it when tempted to eat something that throws you off track and keeps you from reaching goal, which is so close you can reach out and touch it.
