Having surgery - how will this effect my "ketosis"?

Sporty, skip my idea and try the gazpacho - it's really good and the fact it tastes great cold (as opposed to chicken soup, which does not taste good cold...) will make it just as handy

Thanks for all the ideas! I will definitely try the gazpacho and some other soups this weekend. Surgery is monday morning at 6am and probably will not be up for anything on monday except for liquids and then slowly into more foods tuesday and on into the week.

What about egg drop soup...pretty much chicken broth with an egg slowly poured in while it is cooking. Plenty or protein and actually tastey...something you can order on the fly from a chinese restraunt too.

I am so sorry that you have to be on a liquid diet...those really stink. Stay positive tho and you will make it through.

Soup broth with allowable veges diced really fine may work also.....

I didnt even think about egg drop soup! What a wonderful idea... I LOVE Egg drop soup too! I wonder if hubby can make it at home... he is a better cook than I!

Hi, there! So sorry you're having problems with your sinuses... they do sound serious. Please be aware that you'll probably be given glucose by IV. You need to talk with your surgeon about this ASAP. It will get you out of ketosis and your doctor needs to know you're in it - and you don't want to be out of it. No telling what s/he will do but PLEASE tell your surgeon!!

I wish you the BEST of luck! Whatever happens, you can always get back on the low carb diet.
