Default Strict Atkins/little loss - suggestions?

I've been on the induction diet now for like 2 1/2 months. I've lost 9 pounds and holding. Wondering what's going on?? I know in the book he mentions metabolic resistance, but that high fat only diet sounds scary to me. Any help? (Thyroid tests/bloodwork=normal)

A couple days worth of menus (include *everything* - food/drink).
Medications? Supplements?
Exercise?

Why are you still on the induction phase of Atkins? Have you read the book?

People with a lot of weight to lose or who are metabolically resistant may stay on induction six months or more. Given the stats here, the OP may fit both criteria and would be justified in extending induction. Of course, the difficulty is knowing when to move to owl 1 as that sometimes kickstarts weight loss too.

Thanks for the enouragement, all! I just posted to "review my menu". Thanks! By the way MelTin, I have read the book - this diet worked beautifully for me 6 years ago but I went off it (obviously...). "How long can a person be on 20 gms or less carbohydrates per day? A: As long as that person remains overweight and feels well." p.309 New Diet Revolution. The ketosis strips show I'm in ketosis, but hmm... this time around my body's resisting.

Lunch: Atkins shake (strawberry!)

Dinner: Chicken tenders sauteed in 1tbsp olive oil with 3/4 cup mixture of mushrooms and onions. Side: 1 1/2 cups green salad (romaine, spinach, 1/2 tomato, 1/2 stalk celery) with sugar free (0 carb) ranch dressing.

Either 1/2 atkins bar or low carb ice cream bar (net 3 carbs) later if I get a sweet craving.

90-120 oz of water per day.

I walk a mile 4 X week.
This is NOT 'strict' Atkins...

Lose the Atkins bars, shakes and ice cream bars and you should be losing in no time...

The bars and shakes are known stallers. Yes they SAY they are Induction friendly but thats the big bad Atkins corporation talking not the Doctor himself. Best advice is to do this as the Dr prescribed by the book. Those Atkins products may be what is holding you up!

Yep. Shakes/bars/ice-cream are DaDebil!

I put it in my sig line for a reason.

"If it requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce it, you probably shouldn't eat it."

They're not induction friendly (read the label and put it up against the induction allowed foods list. If you can pull 5 legal ingredients out of them, you're doing better than most.)

You're continuing the kinds of habits that landed you here in the first place by eating low-carb junk food, and that's exactly what those things are: Low Carb Junk Food.

They are known stallers (cuz they're garbage, but I digress!).

Feeding a sweet tooth perpetuates it. You can't starve it out and conquer it if you feed it. That's not to say you can NEVER eat sweets, but induction really isn't the time for it. You're resetting yourself, your body, and your habits- so do it!

Try it. You've got nothing to lose but pounds.
