| This is a really fun question for a Sunday I'd have to agree with the broccoli, portabello mushrooms and fresh spinach. The mushrooms can be sautéed with the other two, stuffed or made into soup. The spinach can be eaten raw in salad, with fresh broccoli and peeled port. mushrooms or cooked to made various casseroles from Linda's web site recipes. 3 others always in my fridge are peppers, zucchini and cauliflower! | I'd go with green beans, beet tops (the greens), and onions. I could eat homegrown green beans all day long and honestly do have to limit myself so as not to overeat them. Lightly steamed beet tops with a little butter on them are a new found love in the last several years. Excellent served as a bed of cooked greens underneath the cooked beets themselves, when you get high enough on the rungs to eat beets (sparingly, I would think). And onions to season all kinds of things, eat raw, whatever. Broccoli, mushrooms, and green pepper would be next. After that I could probably easily pick another 20.

| WOW!!!! This was so much fun and interesting... thanks for everyone responding. It is so amazing how much we really love our veggies. I remember being a kid hating them, almost never touched anything except green beans and corn & peas (which really don't count)... now it is like gosh, I would have to choose 3!!! That is it! Since I'm the one who started it... my 3 would be cauliflower, onion, and butternut squash (I'm not there to have it yet, but I do LOVE it, especially in Moroccan couscous!!!!!) |
