| I think that is one of the reasons that exercise is so important. You can eat your bmr, which in theory should cause you to maintain, then add exercise to burn calories in order to lose. I personally don't eat my bmr, but I eat enough that I don't go into starvation mode. I do as Dr. Atkins says in DANDR, I eat when I am hungry & stop when I am not hungry anymore - for me, that is less calories than my bmr, most days.
