Cheese is limited to 3-4 oz per day.

If you want to be successful on Atkins, you need to read Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002).

I am curious about this as well... i think the book i read was the old version (8-10 years ago). I can't remember very clearly but how much cheese is allowed post induction, still 3-4oz? i was hoping i could enjoy a bit of cheese and a small amount of red wine at night, an hour or two before bed.

The "new high protein book"? They are probably not "similar". Atkins is a high fat, moderate protein, low carb diet. And similar is not enough anyway.

In OWL second level/rung you could add more cheeses - either the induction-allowed ones or the fresh cheeses like cottage cheese in addition to milk, yogurt etc. However, adding a lot of it might give you problems, as some people find too much cheese causes stalls or bathroom problems.
The wine would be a rung 5 addition as long as your CCLL allows.
