Default Is Post Induction Stall Syndrome Real?

I think that is what is going on with me, although I know it is not yet defined as an official "stall" as its only been 2 weeks not the required 4.

I've not cheated at all now going on 4 weeks, I lost well during induction so I'm not metabolically resistent. I tried moving up to Rung 1 still no change.

Typical menu

Breakfast 1-2 (depending on how hungry I am) scrambled eggs using a tablespoon of heavy cream for fluff and 1 ounce shredded cheddar, 2 slices of Oscar Meyer bacon (the lowest carb I can find).

Lunch - Two cups of lettuce topped with small tin of tuna mixed with a tablespoon mayo (Helmans) with a little onion and celery.

Dinner - 1-2 ground beef patties (again depending on how hungry I am) .25 lb precooked weight. Maybe topped with a slice of provolone, a tablespoon of mayo on the side, a slice of onion. 1 cup of green beans with butter.

Snack - (when I have one) 1 stalk of celery with cream cheese.

Water 80-100 ounces a day
Sweetener- 2 Sweet-n-lows (one iced tea, one hot green tea) Splenda in the 1 tablespoon of Metamucil a day that I do to keep regular.

This was just a sample, but I'm a creature of habit and it doesn't change a whole lot, sometimes I'll make a recipe off of Linda's site that is induction safe and I do use Fitday and my percentages are usually pretty spot on.

So do you think I'm okay to carry on like I'm doing and wait it out, or should I start tweaking now? What are your experiences with PISS?

What are your calories?

Are they 10-12 times your current body weight?

I would aim for 100 ounces of water as a minimum ...

It's possible your body is just trying to figure out what's going on ... and this is natural.

What are the net carbs of your vegetables? Your net carbs overall?

Do you eat tuna every day? What kind? Tuna isn't really all that "safe" ...

Personally I really like FitDay to log all my foods. I wouldn't know a "normal" serving if it bit me. Normal's just a setting on my washing machine... Fitday helps me know for sure if I'm within my target range of carbs or not. I also lost 15 lbs on induction then stalled for a couple weeks. This morning I found 2 more pounds gone. Thing is, I'm 46 and my metabolism has slowed. Hang in there and know that Atkins does work. If you can account for every bite/sip that crosses your lips and know your carbs are in check, then just wait it out. You'll get that coveted WOOSH! of pounds off.

Another commonly eaten fish, albacore ("white") tuna has much more mercury than canned light tuna.
If you eat the canned light tuna you should be OK...

----------

PISS is a real phenomenon. And not just after induction... I experience it after any whoosh as well...

YES! P.I.S.S. is absolutely real and it is evil becuase it tries to make you give up or change things around and torment you --sometimes for weeks! But you must resist the temptation to stray or tweak and remain calm and stubborn and steadfast in your path! PISS will not succeed. If you stay true a Whoosh will come your way.

Thanks all, I think this must be where I usually fall off the wagon (thus why I'm a STACer). I've been searching the archives reading everything I can about this, hoping to be inspired to tough it out this time, and so far its working, second week without a loss and still sticking perfectly to plan.

Default Re: Is Post Induction Stall Syndrome Real?

It is absolutely real, I am convinced. Too many people experience it.

And I too lose in spurts - will lose a pound a day or close to for days in a row, then it stops, goes up a pound or two (or three) and bounces around for days or a week or maybe more, then starts dropping again. And it seems I almost always gain a pound or two right before I start losing again. In the end, it works out to about a ten pound a month drop for me. Fun on those consecutive days I am losing, gets annoying after 5, 6, 7 days or so and no drop or a few pounds gain, but I can't control that but so much.

Wait it out - it'll start again shortly.

Also, don't know if you are measuring or not, but try it if you aren't. I measured one day after more than a week of no loss and actually weighed a few pounds more than my previous measurements were taken at - I was very happy to see my measurements had come down a little bit even though my weight had actually gone UP a little.

Default Re: Is Post Induction Stall Syndrome Real?

Barb, it is so hard to wait it out but those who do are rewarded (eventually). It is definitely the toughest part of the WOE for me. I like to see steady results and it just doesn't happen for some folks. I can go 3-4 weeks without a loss and then lose 3-4 pounds overnight. Hang in there.
