| If - psychologically - you really want to take a pill - are you on a good multivitamin? I started taking one a couple of months ago, and it *makes* me feel better!! Especially if you are induction, some of your nutrients could be lacking.... I take Centrum Weight Loss (has extra of some of the nutrients).... Good luck to you! I know that it can be frustrating! Make sure you are taking measurements, as well as checking your weight. You'll find - sometimes - that you lose inches, instead of losing pounds. Isn't that what it's all about? I really don't care if the numbers on the scale changes, so long as I can fit back into THOSE jeans!! lol!

Right now its late at night here and i am feeling down because i am trying SO hard, but its going no where for the last 2 weeks. So i came looking for some similar stories to see what others do. I wont give up, but i will keep tryin to understand how all of this works, keep eating whole foods and keep counting carbs. If I get really stuck, I jump on the bike, go for a walk or do something/anything positive. |

| You have to REALLY want this Linda, you are in control of your own destiny. There is no pill out there that's going to help you- you have to do this through sheer willpower. Since Atkin's itself controls your appetite and cravings, what is your major breaking point or hurdle you can't seem to get over, is it only the weight loss stall? You have to stop thinking so much about the weight loss, it will come if you are following this "diet" correctly. You are getting healthy and that should be what keeps you going and keeps you motivated to continue. Try moving on to OWL and adding some more vegetables to your meals- it worked for me. Good luck and hang in there okay??

| I just wanted to add that it might also help to have your menu reviewed periodically here. I've sometimes discovered (and some others here too) that what I was eating (or not eating) was slowing my weight loss down. I made that realization recently when I figured out I was eating too close to my CCLL during OWL. Tracking foods and things using Fitday is invaluable to helping do Atkins. I've discovered that dairy and things like cream cheese stall or slow my weight loss for instance. Still, I only lose 1-2 lbs a week, if that, and hit plateaus sometimes even when doing everything 100% correct. Also, diet pills will be doing something to your body with chemicals. If pills worked, we wouldn't have to change the way we eat, would we? Good luck!

| Lol, I bet Littlelinda is almost sorry she asked! Chinadoll is absolutely right on in her reply. "This is why most diets fail. Nobody wants to put in the real effort and patience it takes to lose weight and keep it off". That is absolutely the truth. It is hard to have little kids crying, or jobs that are demanding, or pants that don't fit. But you have two choices. Stay where you are (and/or get fatter). Or step up and do it right. It's long and slow. Sometimes I really almost hate the posts that say "Omg I'm down 10 pounds in 10 days" -- (although I don't blame the poster for celebrating!) -- That is so much the exception for many people. And sometimes when you're struggling it almost makes you feel 'defeated' (i.e. "why not me!??"). But I say we all just accept the hand we're dealt, and keep going. These boards are wonderful for help -- all the busy people who take time to respond, or encourage, or celebrate (or whine) with you! So come on, step up and be realistic. As it's been said time and again here, we didn't gain this weight in a week and we're not going to lose it in a week because we finally gave up donuts or potato chips |

| Yuck! Diet pills blah! The only thing I got out of them was feeling really weird. I tired one that was suppose to be super. It was suppose to be great so I went for the discount and ordered two bottles. Oh, I've still got some left and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy! Seriously, TOM will get you with holding water. I wouldn't sweat it if the weightloss is slow. One pound a week is 52 pounds in a year! Now if I could do that it would be great. I only lost an average of 40 pounds a year. But I had stalls and went off and ate stuff I shouldn't have. But while on atkins I was eating hamburgers with cheese and lots of stuff I liked. If you do the diet, the weight will come off. Many diets and many pills will make that claim. But this one is the one that worked for me. It worked because I could mostly eat this way for YEARS and be pretty sane doing it. Get over the dieting part. You've got to tell yourself you are eating whole foods because they are good for you. White flour and white sugar are garbage that kills! The pounds will come off when they get ready to. Sometimes I find I am eating too much cheese, a product I thought was safe to eat is holding me back etc. But mostly, if I don't cheat, it will work. And no way did I dream it would take this long. And no way did I think I'd get into these pants either but I did! I'm going to be counting carbs forever, I finally got around to seeing that because I finally decided the junk food isn't worth it. It took time, but it lost its appeal. If you are lucky, you'll have plenty of time to get the weight off. It will happen.

I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask. |

| Diet pills definitely are not the answer, patience is. During my stint on Atkins, I do find my weight loss stops some weeks, or goes up a little, but if you just keep at it, it catches up in time. During one 3 week period of being on plan though maybe a little low on the water intake and probably high on cheese intake and salt, I had this... end of the week - no weight loss - stuck with it end of the second week - up two pounds - boy, did this make me mad... stuck with it end of the third week - lost seven pounds (the two I was up plus five more) - woohoo! - absolutely sticking with it Look at your foods, maybe post your menus to make sure you aren't eating something (or not eating something) that is slowing you down, go for a walk to work off your frustration, and be patient. It does get easier over time, and the pounds do come off. Just not always at the nice, even pace we would like for them to. Don't give up! It works.
