Default Vegetarian Atkins?

I've become a vegetarian recently.. I just disagree with the whole meat industry.
Any way I was wondering if I should still continue the atkins diet?
I didn't do the whole 3 cups thing, I ate 20 carbs of veges, eggs and tofu, sour cream.
But I still didn't think I was getting enough veges in so I upped it to 20 net carbs or less a day, will I still regularly lose of this?

Thought this thread might help. Are you including fish and seafood in your diet? I was thinking about this becuase during Lent I usually give up meat... and actually find myself eating better than I usually do because of all the lovely fish and seafood.

It is very difficult for you to get the proper nutrition on this WOE unless you are eating dairy, eggs, and some other proteins, too. If your concern is the meat industry I am hoping you are still eating eggs, shellfish and other fish. I would also suggest you move to Rungs 2 and 3 because the additional dairy and nuts will help. Peanut butter will provide some of the nutrients you are lacking right now. It would be in your best interest to continue with OWL to get to Rung 6 where you will have legumes and other protein sources too.

Good, the tofy will help too. Your best bet is to use fitday to make sure you get your proteins in and work through to OWL 6 so you have the legumes back sooner rather than later. How is your weight, greenday? I know you did quite well last time. I am the same with you on nuts--just can't control myself.

You might find this book interesting: The Vegetarian Low Carb Diet: The Fast, No-hunger Weight Loss Diet for Vegetarians: Amazon.co.uk: Rose Elliot: Books

It doies not have the rungs in the same way as Atkins but the recipes could be added in as and wehn appropriate.

Not sure can get in NZ though, but worth a look I'd say.

To be honest, when I followed atkins introduction before it just really didn't work for me, I was losing and then just gaining it back, mainly because of an underactive thyroid I had, which is healed now =].
Ever since I added so many veges and quit meat I have been feeling like I can do anything, I didn't enjoy my diet before, infact I think I hated it so much if I would've even another bit of meat id go insane, now I REALLY enjoy my diet, I made guacamole for lunch! =) my attitude is so much better now, I look better, and I have a heck of alot more energy. And even with eating 20 net carbs a day I've managed to lose 1kg in the last week, which is VERY good considering my low metabolism.
Oh and I do eat flaxseed and some other seeds, I grind them cause someone told me there so hard that you don't get all the good stuff unless you grind them... They still taste like seeds though.. If I was a budgie maybe id like them more..

Oh and just a quick question, I don't think they covered it in the book or if they did I must've missed it.
I eat more than half an avocado most days.. But they say to only eat half don't they? Or atleast thats what i've heard.
Is there something wrong with avocado or something?
