Default Protein Powder

Can anyone share if/how they use protein powder...
Some meals I just cant face any solid protein and Ive been thinking about using it in smoothies with cream and iced water etc..

The powder I use is whey protein with about 1% carbs

Thanks

I am not sure what you mean you cannot phase solid protein - you mean like meat, fish or eggs. These should be your main sources of protein on this diet. Really better protein than any processed one would be. Were/are you a vegetarian?

With protein powder the one allowed on induction is the isolate ones as it is purer protein. Whey powder as it is a dairy would be a rung 2 food, soy powder and rung 6 food.

I am a bit of a shake person - as I make protein shakes - I add cream and some tastes and some ice cubes and that is about it.
I sometimes make pancakes with protein powder (but you need to be on OWL for this or I use in in some baking things.

I am not sure what your mean my 1 % carb. How many carbs per serving? Is the powder sweetened and if it is with what?

Hi thanks for the reply... since posting I got directed to lots of posts about protein powder and Ive got it figured now.

When I say i cant "face" solid protein, maybe thats an Australian expression only... it means I just cant stand to eat any more chicken or fish or eggs Once Im further up the rungs then Im sure that will get better.

Im not vegetarian but the idea of a convenient creamy shake with enough protein in it to satisfy the energy proportions would be good (i see from other posts that you do that too, I like the idea of cocoa and coffee in there!)

cheers!

OWL rung three for the amount of cocoa I use - I am a big chocolate fan.
I also make shake with pumpkin and protein powder
And I am going to experiment with veggies next week - because I am in the veggie challenge.
How do you think a spinnach or kale shake would be like?

You know what?
Id never thought about veggie smoothies, sounds like a great idea.
I have a few recipes for cold vege soups and they are delicious, so I guess with a bit of tweaking and some dilution they could be Aitkins friendly and more like a convenient on-the-go veggie shake. Anything that is convenient and I can pack and take with me will save me making a bad choice when Im hungry and need to buy something, also get the veggie count up too.
Let us know how they go, I'll give them a try too. I think the spinach would be great with some low carb yoghurt and a pinch of nutmeg.
