Default Light headed after egg dish.

I made the dish above using 3 ozs. cream cheese, two packets of Splenda, a dash of cinnamon and an egg. I was happy with the change in taste, but I found myself feeling a little light headed afterwards. Could it be the Splenda? Anyone had any trouble using it before?

how far a long on the plan are you? Are you taking the suggested vitamins and calcium, magnesium and potassium supplements? Has it gone way? Are you on Blood pressure meds? this WOE has a natural diuretic effect that will lower your BP and if you are on meds for it it can get too low and make you light headed.

Splenda sets off my cravings, but not light headedness

I know this thread is old, but I JUST tried this recipe with 1 egg, 2 splendas, and 3 oz. of cream cheese. Not only did I like it, I had to give 1/2 of it up to my 2-year-old, hence having to make another one! (Trust me, I didn't mind!) I REALLY thought it would be gross. I've been lurking here for awhile and just registered last month and I thought, "I would NEVER try that!" But my breakfast was late this morning and I needed something quick.

It hit the spot. Sorry for doubting you, 2big!

BTW, I topped mine with SF raspberry preserves. 5 grams. TOTALLY AWESOME!

Thanks!

Alright...I didn't like flaxmeal in flax cakes OR the flax cereal, but I tried this recipe w/1t. vanilla ext., 1/2 t. cinnamon and 1-1 1/2 T Flaxmeal, 1.4 oz. of cream cheese and 1 packet of stevia. MMMMmmm...THIS is a very tasty rendition of a "danish." I must say it is quite good!

Thanks 2big!

Okay, add me to the ranks of Mock Cream Cheese Danish lovers! Although I could not imagine how this was going to turn out, I gave it a try this morning using 2 oz. cream cheese, one egg, one packet of Splenda, 2 T. flax seed meal, and a little cinnamon. It was delicious (and very filling, too)!

Thank you, 2big, for sharing this recipe with us.

bubblicious03, good question. Notice how different people use different amounts of cream cheese and eggs? That changes the consistancy. Adding flax, etc, makes it more breadlike, too. I put mine in an individual souffle dish, and it works well. In a different thread, some people mixed the cream cheese and sweetner/flavoring and saved some before they added the eggs to use as frosting afterward. That is really yummy!

the more flax you use the more breadlike it will get. If you stir the flax seed meal into the cream cheese after it has melted with the sweetener and the spices it will get even more bread like. Of course As I stated above save some for your icing before you add the flax and remember if you are on induction you can only have 4 ounces of cheese including creamcheese for the whole day and only 3 servings of sweetener a day too. The longer you cook it the more bready it gets, but don't overdo it or your eggs get tough.

Yummmmm!!!
For some reason it reminds me of the Cream of Wheat that I used to make as a kid. I'd purposely make it too thick, I liked it that way, lol.

I made mine with 2 oz cream cheese 1 egg 1 packet of splenda 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 2 tbsp flax seed powder and then I topped it with melted butter and Atkins maple syrup.

This is going to be really good on those c-c-c-c-old Minnesota winter mornings
Warm and filling.

Love this recipe.

I have cautions to share.... do not do what I did

I make this in a 1 cup Pyrex bowl, and usually it comes out perfectly.

I thought I'd get a little creative this morning, however, and substitute Framers Cheese for the cream cheese. (The package said it could be used as a cream cheese substitute.) I also used 1/4 cup egg substitute & 2 tablespoons Atkins maple syrup for the sweetener. I always put in 3 tabelspoons of Flax meal (I need it! and love the muffin consistency). Popped it into the microwave to cook for 3 mins....

Luckily I checked on it while it was cooking. Everything had bubbled and oozed out of the bowl on the glass turn-table into a warm, mushy sludge puddle.

Doh!
