Hamburger-broccoli Alfredo Casserole

I made this for dinner and I must have said "OMG" like 30 times while eating it.

I friggin LOVE this recipe!!!

I HAD to share this one:





HAMBURGER-BROCCOLI ALFREDO CASSEROLE
2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion, diced, 2 1/2 ounces
10 ounces frozen broccoli florets
8 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste

In a large skillet, brown the hamburger and onion, seasoning with salt and pepper; drain the fat. Meanwhile, cook the broccoli until tender-crisp; drain very well and season with salt and pepper. Put the cream cheese in a microwaveable bowl and microwave on HIGH about 45 seconds until soft. Whisk until creamy and smooth. Gradually whisk in the cream until smooth, then stir in the parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Mix the hamburger and broccoli in a large, greased casserole, 2 1/2 quarts or larger. Pour in the cream sauce and mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bake at 350º for about 35-45 minutes, until bubbly and browned on top.

Makes 6-8 servings

Although the recipe says frozen broccoli, I used fresh, and I added mushrooms. It was amazing. And, I cut the ingredient list in half and baked it in an 8x8 glass dish... I don't own a caserole dish...

I just whipped it up with chicken and bacon, broccoli and cauliflower and it was awesome!!!! Lots of variations wil work for this one! Awesome recipie! Thanks!
