| Looks good TJ- I might use a jar of salsa instead of tom sauce. Just to make it chunkier. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks, Julie |

| Pre-Atkins, I enjoyed the John Muir fire roasted tomatoes with chilies. It's pretty spicy, very chunky, and you can drop the seasoning packet altogether, since they have an amazing flavor. Haven't tried it since beginning Atkins but based on the above recipe here's my estimate. Roughly 17.5 carbs per can, I'd use 2 cans. Then add your meat, broth and flaxmeal. That would put the recipe at 35 carbs for the same amount of servings. Let's be realistic - we're all going to eat 12 ounces, so that's looking at 6 servings @ 5.67 net carbs. Hehehe...I like math Since I really miss beans, I'd love to add soybeans (anyone know what rung those are on?). 1/2 cup yields 1 1/4 cups cooked beans, and nets 20 grams (after the 8 grams of fiber). That'd be looking at about 54 net carbs and roughly 7 12 oz. servings at 9 carbs. Nice! One more carb for a mess of shredded cheddar, and this is about what I'd look like: ![]() ![]()

| Where does one get these magic tomatoes and chili's of which you speak? I want some! I don't think I've ever seen them down here. I should check and see the carb count on Rotel. That might be good too. Thanks for the input, this is a work in progress. I'm getting my fiber though. My HDL will be normal in no time. I actually eat the chili almost every day. 6 oz at 10, and 6 more at 2. I eat 6 small meals a day and chili is meal 3 and 5. The fiber and water really keep me full and stop me from over eating. I think this stuff is great.

| I get them at Whole Foods or Fred Meyer (part of the Kroger Company). Look for them in the Natural Foods sections, as I think they're organic. Definitely pricier than your average toms, but well worth it. I buy Ro-tel when I'm broke but, sadly, they just don't compare.

| I'm stuck in GA, so I gotta do what I've gotta do. I don't believe I've ever knowingly eaten Ro-tel, but it looked interesting. I'll be back up north in just over a year when I retire.

| Ro-tel will definitely work if you can't get the others. It's tasty. You can mix it with Velveeta and ground beef for an amazingly tasty chili-cheese dip.
