Oh, how I sing its praises. Before starting my second time around, I would have their fabulous sandwiches, but now I'm onto their AMAZING salads.
Today I had a huge Chicken Grill Salad: one large chicken breast (grilled) sliced on top of about 1/4 cup shredded bacon, 2 tbsp. cheddar cheese, 4 tomato wedges, 5 cucumber slices, and 3-4 cups lettuce. It also comes with banana peppers and croutons, but I have them make the salad without those. I had it with blue cheese dressing. The best part of the salad is that it fills you up so much... I had 1/2 of it around 1:30 and the other 1/2 at 3:30. I didn't get hungry again until I came home from a movie tonight at 9:30!!!
You have to watch out because the dressing is LOADED with calories -- remember, we count those, too! But it's not a splurge or a cheat because it seriously makes up the majority of what you'll eat for the day.
Most of the salads are Induction-safe, but stay away from the croutons. Also, they're served with a pack each of melba toast, saltines, AND club crackers (which I immediately handed over to my colleague). You could probably also have ALL of the sandwiches sans the bun.
At OWL Rung 8 you could probably get the Super-Sized Spuds, but the name alone scares the heck out of me.
STAY AWAY FROM THE SWEET TEA! It is deadly. (I tasted it before Induction, take 2.) If you really want to try it, get the unsweetened tea and add Splenda, but I don't want to waste my 3 Splendas/day on one drink.
McAlister's seems to be all over the south, so if you're living down here, I HIGHLY recommend the salads!
