This is heavenly for 4 carbs, but I discovered that this has 4 grams of sugar per serving...yikes...it went into the trash and I'll be on the lookout for an ice cream that has no sugar...not sure if that is possible...I guess I find plenty of other yummy treats that have fewer carbs then this anyways!

Re: Carb Smart Ice cream
Dryers Carb Benefit ice cream is made with Splenda. I tried the Chocolate Chip and had no tummy problems, probably because it only has 4 sugar alcohols and I also followed the serving size recommendation. It does have 2 grams sugar though. I got it mainly for my husband because he's in maitenence but I had a little bit with him one evening. It's really good for the occasional treat.

Re: Carb Smart Ice cream
Did you get the Breyer's brand? I got the Neopolitan and there are zero net carbs in the whole container. The chocolate and strawberry are pretty good. The vanilla is okay.

Re: Carb Smart Ice cream
I love this ice cream! Yummy! I tried the chocolate, vanilla and rocky road (once I got on the nuts rung).
The sugar are probably from milk -- lactose. If you are on the dairy rung, then it shouldn't be a problem, ay?
This is the only ice cream so far that hasn't caused me to feel bloaty, crave more and gain weight. So, I have it in my freezer for a treat -- at four grams of carbs it is delicious!~Kat

Re: Carb Smart Ice cream
atkid they have reformulated many of the ice creams now to exclude the sugar alcohol lactitol which was the bad gassey one. some don't even have any sugar alcohols in them any more but remember Dr Atkins said sweets and desserts should be occasional treats not every day events.by the book atkinseer

Advice from a 2 year veteran: STAY AWAY FROM THE LC ICE CREAM. Make your own. Do without. Find some other substitute. Nothing has caused me more problems than LC Ice Cream. Not Pizza, donuts, LC bars, fruit, nuts, or Pop Tarts.Start 7/5/2004

Yeah, I did get to try it and love it.....a little too much! Gonna try to just use it for birthdays and holidays rather than a year round thing since portion control is a problem for me. But girl that Rocky Road is yum yum!Originally posted by kkat55Did you try it yet, Atkid?

Re: Carb Smart Ice cream
I tried the Blue Bunny carb smart ice cream and WOW it was really addictive, and it also um, shall we say, caused some excess gas. I have never in my life gotten gas from eating ice cream before, so it was a shocking first! The flavor was chocolate almond--it tasted pretty good (but not as good as bunny tracks from a few years back yum) but was NOT worth the cravings or extreme gas!

Re: Carb Smart Ice cream
The blue bunny does mess with your tummy. But I never found that with the Carb Smart. I don't have any problem with control with it either, I can eat 1/2 cup and the rest of it will sit in the freezer forever until my BF eats it or I throw it out because of freezer burn.

Re: Carb Smart Ice cream
Same for me. Breyers' Carb Smart is the only one I found so far that doesn't make me feel bloated, crave or cause weight gain and I'm satisfied with my 1/2 cup.
