  • Walmart (great value) brand splenda

I saw a Great Value brand of Splenda packets today at Walmart. It was slightly cheaper than the splenda brand. Do you tyhink this means that the big company has lost its patent on Splenda? I can't remember the name of it, but it was in a yellow box right next to the Splenda brand. I did not buy any.

Re: Walmart (great value) brand splenda

I remeber reading an article a while back about a "Splenda" shortage. By shortage they meant that the ONE factory that manufactured sucralose could not keep up with demand, they had many companies wanting sucralose for sweetening their products but were maxed out on production and could not take on any new customers. Now, I have seen a lot of new products containing Splenda and sucralose, I don't know if they upped production, or built bigger facilities or a new facilities, but as far as I know there is only one producer of sucralose. But what do I know?
