Was wondering how everyone's food percentages have altered since hitting maintenance... if they have altered, that is.

My fat & was always highish, but I put it down to the wonderful Italian olive oil which gets used to toss all veggies, liberally. Fat's remained slightly on the high side in maintenance, but my protein % has taken a bit of a dive. Probably the increase in carbs.
Still try to keep calories under 2000, unless it's a holiday or a festivity of some sort.

    Anyone else noticed changes?

sa we moved through the pahses and upped the carbs inorder not to over eat the fats naturally came down some.

should be around 50% now with all the carbs we get to eat.

    What is your CCLM?

      Re: Food percentages

CCLM was 45, but have recently had an unexpected whooshie, so am re-evaluating. Currently eating around 50...so far weight is stationary.

Fat % is around 57% (average over several days). Producing your own olive oil has a downside...but it's sooooo delish! Think that on the whole, in Italy, everyone eats slightly more fat. So much here is cooked starting out with that basis of Italian cooking: the 'soffritto' (garlic, onions, chilis etc, tossed in oil then a dash of wine). With that done, you then go on to cook whatever... veggies, meats, fish, pasta and risotti (last two no longer). Carbs are at an average of 15% lately.

        Re: Food percentages

remember on Atkins the protein stays the same 30$ all the way. your olive oil mixture sounds yummy. at 57% you are not to far off andwith a low CC<M you got to put some cals el;sewhere.

Yes... thanks 2big! Could always up the protein a little, but don't really need those extra cals. The answer of course is to be less liberal with the olive oil. Big sacrifice, as now is picking and pressing time (we have our own olives) and the new oil is quite wonderful...aromatic, intense and almost peppery. Bruschetta with freshly pressed oil (using low carb bread of course!) is to die for! The olive mills always have a big fire going, with a loaf of rustic bread to toast, garlic and a bottle of wine. Everyone tastes the new oil there and then, with the noisy oil press churning away in the background. Quite special! A wonderful time of year.

              Re: Food percentages

I haven't a clue; I know I eat lots of protein and fat .. and it fills me up and keeps me satisfied! I have ample energy for my running, so that's really how I gauge it ... if my running suffers, I know I'm not eating enough fat/protein. As for carbs, I typically stay in the 30-40 a day range.

My percentages are still pretty close to Induction levels (60-30-10 on a usual day). My appetite hasn't changed much from the early days. My CCLM has never really played a role as my weight jumps around every single day due to varying water intake and output.

Thanks y'all! Was curious to know 'where others are at' figure-wise in maintenance...but in the long run, the figures aren't perhaps as important ('cept for us gals striving for the old hourglass figure... I wish!) as feeling well, having energy and maintaining weight. If that's how things are, we can't be doing too much wrong!

Oh I do love this WOE!

Like Kent said, my appetite hasn't really changed much either. I just eat what I love!! And I find that my running really suppresses my appetite.

                        Re: Food percentages

appetite is suppose to return during premaintenance as we lessen out ketosis with the addition of the carbs ad the slight lowering of our fat intake. That is were many true Atkinseers get into trouble and don't move or do and jump off the wagon. Dr Atkins said we are supposed to use the tools he taught us to control any cravings that appetite might cause us but staying in the deeper ketosis is an easier method.

I don't think I have a lack of appetite at all. Right now I am jonesing for the brined roast turkey in the oven, what has not returned is a desire to eat ice cream, milk, or even whole grain bread. I think what is more accurate is my taste for food or hunger for certain foods has not changed. Why eat berries or drink milk -- when roast turkey and cauliflower is so much better.

I eat a very good variety of foods, including fruit (low glycemic). What I don't eat are starches. And I really don't like nuts either. I do eat an occasional slice of whole grain lc bread, but I could take it or leave it. I focus on proteins, veggies and fruits and never feel hungry or deprived. Gotta love that!
