I went to IHOP this morning for breakfast and was delighted to see a Low Carb menu. It didn't have a lot, but it looked good. I ordered a Big Bacon Omelet from the regular menu and it was all legal, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, sour cream, and parmesan cheese. Delicious. What I didn't know was that it came with pancakes but DH was more than willing to eat them for me.
Price was a little high so I can only give it about 3 stars.

Very cool!!!! I'll have to remember that one. A long time ago, there were posts on the board saying that IHOP had eggs already mixed up for omlettes and scrambled eggs, and that pancake batter was put in it, so we were supposed to ask for freshly cracked eggs. I wonder if that was just a rumor, or if there was any truth to it??

The menu actually says that there is pancake batter in the omlettes. Weird eh?

Desert, I'm SURE you're fine! I think they're advertising the Low Carb omelettes seperate from the others because the low carb ones don't have pancake batter. Put the knife down!

I'll have to remember that. I generally am not too fond of omlettes, but I think it's because I don't have all the stuff in the house that IHOP does. If your omlette is loaded with sausage, mushrooms, tomatos and cheese, I barely remember I'm eating eggs!

LOL, thats funny. I can't believe there is a Carls in Mexico, I lived in Talaquepaque for a few years back in the 1950 and I still think of Mexico as my second home.

I live in Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque is very near from here, a very nice place for tourist (Tlaquepaque, Jalisco right??) 1950 !! it is totally different now, the low carb WOE is the only thing that has not arrived here. It is full of McDonalds, Burger kings, KFC, Apple Bees, Outback, Wall-Marts, malls, sirloin stockades, churchs chicken, peter piper pizza, chillis, starbucks...

There was a low-carb menu in apple bees but it is not longer available because no body asked for it. Some day I asked for the low-carb desserts menu, and they laugh at me. It is very hard to find low-carb things here. They don't even know what is it.
Only in GNC is where sometimes they have chocolates.
There are subways but they dont have wraps.

Back to iHOP... I went there today for lunch and had the Big Bacon omelette (after I read about it here, it sounded GREAT). I just asked if they were able to use regular eggs rather than the pancake batter eggs. The waitress looked like she had no clue what I was talking about and said no one had ever asked her that before (seriously? she must be new...) but she went back and asked the cook and he said he could definitley do that. YIPPEEE! And, it even tasted like fresh, good eggs, not some yucky egg substitute. YUMMY. Highly recommend that omelette. Agreed though, it is DEFINITELY expensive... $9.59 where I live. But I got a 15% discount because the company I work for has some deal with iHOP. Definitely try it out if you have an iHOP near you!
