Amen to that!!! They look horrendous, don't they? But soooo good. The first time I made one, I was TOTALLY surprised by how good it tasted.

I am definetly excited to try this danish, I have a big sweet tooth and hopefully that may curb some of it.

I agree those things were fantastic. They really assisted in putting down the temptation when they threatened my resolve. I haven't had a mock danish in awhile, but that was my fall back comfort food for much of my Extended Induction. Glad you pushed past the look of it to discover how good it tastes..

Here's a tip - add some flax to it and some DaVinci syrup rather than splenda to vary the flavor.

It was totally yummy. When she made it I was terrified. But it was amazing! I'm buying cream cheese tomorrow!

                Re: Mock Danish

Ohhh... another breakfast/dessert that is really good if you like the Mock Danish is the Wintertime Pumpkin Breakfast Casserole (eating one for breakfast as I type this). I got the recipe from the Endless Recipe Thread on this board. People still on induction should be careful not to add too much extra cream as in the serving suggestion. But if you like Mock Danish and you like pumpkin (especially pumpkin pie), this is a great little breakfast and helps you get in some veggie.

                Wintertime pumpkin breakfast casserole:

                2 eggs, slightly beaten
                1/4 cup pumpkin (canned)
                3 tablespoons heavy cream
dash splenda or flavored syrup (caramel is good)
                1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice.

Mix ingredients and pour into a cereal bowl (can also be mixed in the cereal bowl if you are like me and hate wasting dishes)

Place bowl in microwave for 3 minutes. Serve hot. May add cream if you like.

Everything I cook looks like that at its completion. This danish won't scare me. I notice your from Dekalb, I didn't take any cooking classes when I attended Northern Illinois myself.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I had my first one lastnight. I have to admit that it was pretty good. Tasted a bit like french toast, minus the Syrup. It's no reese cup, but it will definately work when I am in the mood for something sweet.
