had some mango last week apples and pears are fine peaches were a little iffy but i think it may have been something else going on at the time. Watermelon was okay but canteloup tossed me in the I want Carby foods mind set.
It will be different for everybody because in addition to the actual sugar spike the food gives you we each have food as a drug memory storage in our brains and the food can be evoking feelings you had the last time or a time many yrs ago as our subconcious tries very hard to make us happy and healthy and thay man not always jiv with what we currently value as happy and healthy. You'd be surprized what foods it has filed away as stress relievers cause you were stressed ate it and got unstressed
Try them in small amounts with a fat for blood sugar stability as you learned in OWL and have fun.by the book atkinseer

I have blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, banana, coconut, grapes, apple, cherries a couple times a week (not every day).
I stay away from citrus because it gives me cravings ('cept splenda lemon- or lime- ade)
I think it's healthy & important to eat fruit. Just limit your portions and eat with something else to slow down absorption.

fruits
if I mix a fruit with a protein or fat as Iap says it does not seem to bother me at all ....I eat fruit every morning in a smoothie but it is a measured amt one portion ....IE 1/3 a med banana or 1/2 cup whole berries ....apples are harder for me to control if I see a whole apple it is so hard for me to eat half...so I only eat them if I can cut it in half and give the other half away ...they just do not look right all alone!!!

fruit a holics run in my family. Before starting Atkins I was downing a Jamba Juice about once a day!!! Now, I eat a handful of grapes about once a week, strawberries when I can get them and ummm nothing else. I've lost the craving for fruit all together and eat it basically cause I think my body needs it but not cause I actually crave it.
Cereal, I pretty much stick to the Atkins cardboard er I mean cereal with carb milk or heavy cream. Although, heavy cream and atkins cereal is pretty harsh going down if ya know what I mean.
Check ya later,

Question:
when you guys *do* eat fruit, do you try to eat them with a fat & protien at the same time?? (like say a slice of cheese?)
My hubs *just* started eating fruit this past spring, and he says he misses that the most on this diet, and is looking forward to having it occasionally again :joyF 41!!! 5'3" Start July 15/04

I have been eating strawberries , blueberries, blackberries, and cantelope all summer in small portions with no problems . Now that all the fresh
is gone and you have to pay a fortune to get them when you can find them
I has switched to apples . I sometimes have a few slices of apple and a slice of cheese and call it lunch ! I'm going to try a few slices of orange next. I really want to try a banana but think I might hold off a while. With God all things are possible

I've had a bit of mango
I usually only eat 1/2 apple at a time, and have had a few servings in the past few weeks
Haven't had bananas
Have had cantaloupe or honeydew, but only a small piece - the last time was in the summer
Blueberries - fresh when available - frozen now (I froze the freshly-picked ones). Usually leave them frozen with a little cream - it freezes on them - almost like icecream
Whole grains - rarely (at least the wheat variety). Back in September I made 100% whole wheat bread (by that I mean that I actually ground the wheat kernals and made the flour, and went from there). Froze it, but am thinking it is probably past it's "best before" phase and will probably end up feeding the birds. I didn't miss it nearly as much as I missed the smell of it baking. Gave away two loaves - had made four.
Whole grain/high fibre rolls - nearly daily. These contain mostly brans (wheat, rice, oat, flax), soy flour, gluten flour - I think I posted the recipe as "flax rolls" somewhere (I've lost track of which BB), so if someone wants it, I'll repost from home. Occasionally I'll add frozen cranberries (and let the mixer chop them up) and/or nuts to the mixture before baking.
I made a "cream of flax" cereal after reading someone's post regarding a purchased product. It has unsweetened, shredded coconut in it, and I don't have it often, because I'm afraid even that amount of sweetness may trigger something. At least I'm watching to ensure it doesn't. As I'm more sensitive to things that are sweet/sour/spicy, etc (the taste buds on the tongue), I monitor my reaction to things.
I haven't had a problem with things, yet, but I try not to have the same "new" thing two days in a row, just in case.Started Atkins: 21 Sep 2003

I feel more comfortable with berries, so I'll choose them over fruit. And since they tend to go to waste at home, I generally only have that when I'm out.
One of my favorite desserts is whipped cream with raspberries and peanuts. (Or would that be raspberries and peanuts with whipped cream?)

he said, 'Don't count calories.'
