  • Joseph's Sugar Free Maple Syrup with malitol

Unlike the much thinner, weaker Atkin's pancake syrup, this product has a rich, satisfying mouthfeel and thickness. This is much more like a real pancake syrup than any of the other brands I've tried so far. This one definitely gets my seal of approval.

Per 1/4 cup serving, there are 35 calories, 9 grams of malitol and no other carbs. Ingredients are listed as water, malitol and all natural maple flavor.

More details about this product can be found here:

    Malitol?

So, Malitol is a carb? I assume it's not a sugar carb?

Maltitol is an alcohol derived from sugar.

Bulk sweetener with a clean sweet taste similar to sucrose in intensity

Reduced-calorie sweetener with only 2.1 calories per gram

Useful in formulating a variety of low-calorie, low-fat and sugar-free foods

Especially useful in the manufacture of sucrose-free chocolate

May be useful for people with diabetes because it does not raise blood glucose or insulin levels

Does not contribute to the formation of dental caries

Someone else said it is approved by the Atkins book..so it's ok to eat! Just consume it in moderation...it may give you the runs!
