I just got my blood work results since leaving this WOL about 18 months ago, and my Lipid panel sucked. The last time I had it done I was still doing Atkins and everything was within guidelines, although still on the high side, although I had only been doing Atkins about 4 months when I had that bloodwork done, so it probably would have continued going down if I hadn't gotten complacent. I know alot of people are resistant to going on medication for cholesterol, but my doc convinced me to go ahead and give Lipitor a shot to start getting the numbers better and she will be reevaluating my levels in 6 & 12 weeks. My goal is to get back into this WOL and get off the Lipitor after my next lipid panel in 6 weeks, is that doable in that short amount of time? I plan to start induction in the next day or two. Here's my numbers:
Total Cholesterol 286 (high)
Triglycerides 192 (high)
HDL 46 (normal)
VLDL 38 (high normal)
LDL 202 (high) this is the number she said concerned her and warranted the Lipitor.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm already on HCTZ for hypertension, and I really hate having to rely on another daily medication, I'd love to get off both of them. Thanks!
