  • Centrum Silver

I just recently switched over my vitamin supplement to this product since the one that I was taking had iron in it and it was adding to much iron to my diet.

Here are the ingredients. In addition, I am taking CoQ10, Fish Oil with Omega 3, Alpha Lipolic Acid, Potassium, L-Carnitine, Chromium Picolinate, Low dose Aspirin, and Garlic. Any other suggestions on what I should be taking. I don't have sugar cravings, so I'm not sure if taking L-Glutamine makes sense for me.

Are there any deficiencies that I am overlooking?

    Hi Don,

For general good health, your supplement regimen looks just fine! If, however, you were interested in fighting other health issues, then additional supplments (and higher dosages of what you're taking) are called for. However, as we can't be giving medical advice, we can only steer you to other books or journals that discuss it.

A really good book to start with would be Dr. Atkin's Vitanutrient Solutions book. He goes into detail about each imporant nutrient and then gives advice on what to take for certain ailments, either prevention or if you're currently suffering from it. Atkins doesn't use a lot of medical-ese, as his approach is for the average consumer. I highly recommend reading it, if not owning it. Check your local library first though.
