Hello From Robert J,
Do you know what an "Inner Game" startegy is? I didnt until recently and it explains why I had a tough time with Atkins . I have been doing Atkins since August of 2003 and had succesfully dropped seventy pounds. I was doing great and looked good and all seemed well until about six months ago I hit a bump in the road. I just plain got tired of the Atkins regimen and started to drift off the path. Fortunately I went out to address the reason why I was drifting and was able to find a solution. I was using Atkins as a total way of life instead as a part of my life. In my case I was lucky. I didnt have a full blown relapse but i did get sloppy on the execution of day to day eating. I had no "Inner Game" and finally the sum total of hiding under the Atkins WOL was to much and i began to question what I was doing. Luckily I am involved in regular cognitive therapy and engaging in this theraptutic process gave me a reasoin not to got to far from the Atkins path. It was fortunate for me that low carbing was making a decisive change in my cognitive therapy journey so I had some proof that the concept was viable. I still however had no "Inner Game". Its not all bad either. This time period in my life has been well instructive and taught me a lot. I only regained ten pounds but , armed with anew personal understanding that Atkins for me is a tool to use in achieving success and is dependent on a good cognitive outlook to work right , i have begun to move forward in my use of Atkins principles to aide in living a good life. I have already dropped five pounds and am looking forward to getting even farther down the weight scale but I will no longer do this on a time frame or as means to unrealistically fix things. I am working very hard to perfect my "Inner Game" and the results are already happening. Atkins is *a* way to live a good life but if you dont take care of the total package it doesnt work.
Happy New Year ADBB
