  • Day 3 and I'm about to pass out

    I REALLY need some help! Today is day 3 and I feel very sick. My whole insides are shaking and jittering around, I feel like I'm going to throw up. My head is swimming and doesn't feel right either. Is this normal? I need to eat but even the thought of food (especially eggs) will make it worse.

    Any suggestions or help please. . . . . .

    Yes you need to eat.. Protein will help...and some fat..and don't forget those veggies.. Its like having the flu.. and this WILL pass.. just think..its getting all the yucky stuff out of your body.. Take it easy today if you can...

      I have any appt at 11am so I'm hoping to feel better by then. I know peanut butter is OUT but that is all that sounds good. I guess my body is screaming at me for taking away all the junk I was supplying it with. Thank you for the support. I need a prayer to make it thru this day.

        Its not nice, but you'll feel so much better tomorrow, and by day 6 you'll feel full of beans and on top of the world!

          I sincerely appreciate your prayers. There's a lot of POWER in them! I am determined to make it thru this induction period, one day at a time. Make it a great day!

            Post your menu in the review my menu section of the board. Many people make the mistakes of eating no carbs or eating low fat. So post your menu so the folks there can review it and make suggestions.

              I know the feeling, I lost my appetite too around the 2nd or 3rd day and the thought of meat or eggs made me want to barf. I also go the shakes and sweats. BUT, by the fourth day I was feeling much better. Stick with it! Oh, and keep drinking LOTS of water, I found that helped me. Also, even though I felt sick, as soon as I ate I actually felt better.

                Stick with it, I had a day the first week when I felt SUPER sick and shaky and I did eat a couple ounces of nuts as Dr. A says to. I lost 7 lbs that first week when I only have about 25-26 to lose so I think I was losing WAY too fast. Hang in there and you can do it!! String cheese also helped me. It was mild tasting and easy to eat and didn't make me want to be sick.

                  Oh, how I feel your pain! I posted almost this exact same thing on day 2 of my induction. My headache was horrible and the nausea...WOW...I actually did throw up once.

                  Like you, the thought of ANY food ESPECIALLY eggs made it worse. Shame on me, I ended up eating a slice of 5carb bread with the tiniest schmear of peanut butter on it. Not induction legal, but within 20 minutes I felt better. I did what I had to do.

                  It will pass. By the next day I was fine. Good luck!

                    THANK YOU for all your support! This BB is awesome, there is so much support here. I made it thru the day - without cheating - and actually feel alive again. My muscles still feel weak and heavy, but I suppose that will get better too. It was a horribly hard day, not to mention tempting, but I also feel better mentally for making it.

                      Yes I am there now. I've done atkins before for a short time but its been too long ago for me to remember this. I have felt very pukey today and tired. I'm sticking with it of course. hehe but it's so hard to chase an overactive 19 month boy around when you feel like crap.

                      the worst part is burping every 5 minutes. lol

                      And I drink tons of water always have. I drink around 120-144 ounces a day.
                      Kinda makes my appetite non existant at the moment.

                        My worst induction day was also day 3. In medicine we always tell people that after surgery or an accident you will feel the worst on day 3.

                        I think you have just hit the detoxification wall. IT WILL GET BETTER! Your body is adjusting and getting rid of all the yucky refined carbs.

                        Soon you will be chasing your son around without any probs! Keep up the good work!

                            Day 4 was so much better and each day after that! I am starting day 8 and the cravings are just about gone. I still feel weaker than normal. I can actually sit and watch my family eat chips, rolls, and desserts (which I did on Mother's Day) and not feel deprived by not eating any. It truly did not bother me. I know a lot of that is also mental and I am so determined to lose the weight. I can't wait to start seeing results in my clothes. I can't tell my clothes are any looser yet and I work out every other day with weights and cardio. Maybe this next week . . . . .

                              Good to hear you got through the 'induction flu' problems and coped with Mothers' Day unscathed.
                              Well done with the exercising too Keep up the good work!!
