If I could describe my life before Atkins I would have to say there wasn't one. I had gotten to over 300lb and was in a deep depression for YEARS. I gave up on myself completely. In my misery I lost or was losing everything (almost) that I cared about. Because I was so obese, in constant pain whenever I moved and so lethargic I just stayed inside my apartment. I hit bottom when things went crazy and I had to move on my own far from a city into the country. No buses here and I was alone. I "knew" I would never work again because I couldn't handle life being that size and I "knew" I would never lose weight because I never did before.
I started Atkins on March 12th 2007. I stuck with the diet from the start because it was all I had. 3 weeks later I wasn't depressed anymore at all and I am so far from depressed now that it is amazing! Today I am finishing up packing my apt. and moving back to the city. Today I have a great job that I just started a couple of weeks ago. A career type job, not a low-paying crappy job but a job full health and life benefits. I am still on Atkins and I am down 89 pounds!
In my wildest dreams I never thought I would be where I am today or WHO I am today. I have grown and changed so much as a person and I am so much happier. Life is an opportunity and I am glad I stuck through the hard times. To say "If I can do it, you can too" is not just a cliche. There was not one person in the world who would have believed that I could do this. I can only imagine how life will be when I lose the next 89lb
I won't be able to access my the internet until Saturday so I'll have to wait until then to respond to any comments.....thanks
