Tag festival

Hey everyone ... I just created a new thing called "Tag Festival"

This new board has a thing called tags ... where you can tag every post.

When you create a tag it helps people find the item better ... it kind of is like a search engine.

If you look on the front page:

http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com

you will see a tag cloud. If you click on a word it will show you the post related with that tag.

So what I am calling the "Tag Festival" is a call to all of you to go around and find posts and add tags to them.

Anyone up for some fun?

the tag section looks like this:

Tags Separate tags using a comma.
You may add 25 tag(s) to this thread.

To find the "Tag Cloud" on the Portal Page - go to the Portal Page and look at the top of the page. See the large rectangle with the various words in it? Such as - exercise, teeth whitening, yellow teeth, challenges, etc. You can click on any of these words, to find the posts that have been "tagged".

Tags are key words to what the post/thread is about. You can have a multitude of tags of your choosing to your thread. When someone does a search for X, they'll pull up all the postings that have a tag of X first.

There's an "edit tags" button at the bottom of the thread. You click on that and add your tags to the text box. If you'll notice, there has been a "tags" tag added to this thread.

Hi Tom, been adding tags when i think of it. This post says 25 tag limit. 2 tags have been the max for me. No biggy, just wondering

Well...isn't that strange! I missed all these posts. Elizellen helped me find the answer. "click on the link 'Edit Tags' at the right hand side of the Tags box at the bottom of a thread then add your tag words and click on 'Save'"

Anyone know how to stop recieving the linkbacks I am getting in my email?

Oh...just figured that out too...maybe...I will try shutting off the Trackbacks...Pingbacks and Refbacks..or is one of those the ones that let me be notified when there is a new post??

No the one that notifies you of new posts is the subscribe thread feature.

On the bottom of each post there is a box:

Edit Tags
Tags None vBulletin Message

Cancel Changes


If you click on Edit Tags you can add appropriate tags to the post ... it is really cool because it creates like a search engine from the words you attach to the post.
