  • man this diet rocks!!

    eight pounds in eight days. wow I am impressed. I am so happy that the weight is coming off so easily. and let me tell you I am eating. I had steak and eggs for breakfast. lol. I only crave meat now. I am not really eating veggies but probably should be. The only bad thing is that I am having to use laxitives and they are barely working. Well anyways just wanted to share. A pound lost a day. now I can live with that.

    I am by no means an expert, however, in his book Dr. Atkins suggests that you take psyllium husks and I believe this will help you with the bowel movement issue. In addition to that he suggests Flaxseed oil and L-Glutamine.

      i am very happy you are having great success. but remember this is not a crash diet, its a way of life. don't be surprised if the journey has bumps in it .

          If you are not eating your veggies, you aren't doing Atkins right. If you have no fiber, of course you will have bowel issues. Also, you need to be drinking a lot of water to keep things moving. Laxatives are the worst thing you can do. Do the diet right with a lot of high fiber veggies, plenty of fat, moderate protein and the supplements that Dr. Atkins suggested, and you will lose even more weight and get your bowels back in order.

          If you haven't read the book, I suggest you read it right now, so you don't end up doing the 'bad for your health' diet that the public thinks is the right way to do Atkins and we get so much grief over in the press. If you are not eating high fat, moderate protein, eating your veggies, drinking water and exercising, you are not doing the Atkins diet that truly rocks.

            Hi there,

            Good for you! Also I am not eating hardly vegetables and in 4 days I lost 5 pounds. This diet is the only one that has worked for me. Are you excersing as well? I am doing hugh intensity cardio for 30 minutes daily.

              Congrats on the weight loss so far!

              I'll chime in (because as a mom, I'm always telling my kids to pick a veggie and eat it!) If you're wanting to stay healthy, regular, and continue the weight loss----eat your veggies

                Yes i agree eat your veggies.. .find some u like, try some new ones.. everything tastes good w/some melted cheese!! ...all that meat will be hard on u're tummy.

                  I'll third the "eat your veggies" advice. It will keep your bowels healthy. you're not doing yourself any favors by omitting them.

                    Remember that the MINIMUM amount of veggies is 3 cups a day, and this is the case for the rest of your life!

                        I dont particularly like being the odd man out but, I hardly ever eat any kind of veggies and so far so good. No problems(I'm knocking on wood). God Bless, Joe

                              LOL. Yep, you're losing weight. I did it your way the first time (note, I didn't say Atkins!) Lets compare in 10 years and see who has learned to eat for a lifetime.
