to any new buddies who might stop by, our buddy list members are having a personal buddy list exercise challenge this week if you would like to join you are welcome to do so. you can pledge to start up an exercise routine, try a new exercise to you, or just set a specific goal for an exercise you want to improve on, it's up to you the goal that you set.

for all buddy list members who would like to join the exercise challenge this week, please post what your goal is for the week.

my goal is to incorporate weights into my exercise routine atleast 2 times this week for atleast 15 mins each of the 2 days.

Dusted off the Universal Gym--found the recommended routine and will start it tonight--will start will 5 reps each excercise, then go for ten then the goal of 15 reps each excercise.

Morning all - I'm shooting for walking a total of 3 miles between now and Friday. Just going to walk every other day as my knee is still a little sore.

Bill - congratulations on the 4 lbs!

        Stay strong everybody.

and WTG Mike! let's hope the walks chase that pain away for good!

Tried that Mid-evil Torture device---the Universal Gym--man, only had it at 80 lbs and it still felt like I was lifting a truck...

                      Re: Buddy List July 14-20

hey guys & gals!!!! hope everyone had a great day.

it's great to see so many of you doing the exercise challenge for this week. i may actually have to adjust mine a little bit. it seems i forgot that DH sold the weight bench we had a few years ago, however we still have our weight rack, and a couple bar bells and dumb bells. i had totally forgotten that when i went out to our florida room to dust off the bench to start my workout tonight. we mainly use that room for storage now, and when i saw the empty space with only the weight rack, i felt pretty silly. i still managed a 5 min workout with weights, but i got home kinda late tonight and there's no electricty in there, so i had no light. it started getting pretty dark in there, so i had to stop. (also, was already getting kinda tired after only 5 mins, but gonna stick with the no light excuse.....hehehehe) i may try to use my stability ball for some weight exercises, i found some website with some exercises using both weights and the SB. that will also help me build more mins up on the SB challenge.

bill-wtg on the 4 lbs loss, sounds like that universal gym gonna give you a run for your money-just remember, no pain, no gain oh yeah, not sure you should waste all that hot air on those ballons, you'll need to save it for when you get on that "Mid-evil Torture device" of yours.

mike-good to see the knee not bothering you today-here's to many more pain free walks

study-i love to do my ab workouts, hope you will too. oblique ab crunches are great too, matter of fact, i may go bust some out before i go to bed. i haven't done them for a few days.

Elsie-hope you have a wonderful time this week. we will be thinking of ya, and will miss ya, but do we have to..... "Beeeee GGGooooooddd". (Elsie's voice in my head saying "Yeeeesssss!!!!!) oh well, we'll try.

cori-have fun w/ that Tae Bo tape, i might try to find one and try it sometime. i've heard they are a great workout.

well, think i might go get me a little snack before bed and do some more crunches too.

good night and have a good one tomorrow.

                      monie

Hey all, still around. Just really busy with school and not much help at home with BF out of town. This nightmare of a class is coming to a close soon, but is giving me a really hard time. Back up to 85%, still shooting for 90, but we'll see..... I posted in the main forum about being bummed about BF not eating LC on his trip, bummed about that. So anyway, haven't had a lot of positive stuff to post about, but am still here. Didn't want to spread my gloomy mood around, lol.

Gotta take DB in to see his preemie dr, 8 months post NICU checkup today. Trying to get the lawn mowed, about to give up on that, lol! Supposed to be my exercise, but DB won't nap long enough for me to get it done. The ex is talking custody BS again, what-ever. This madness will resolve soon!!

I see you all are doing well, other than Bill feeling under the weather, get better soon!!! Gotta go study... um, what is the topic today, I have never crammed so much in my lifetime, oh yeah, the chapter on metabolism and how if we don't eat 130 or more carbs per day, we are wasting away our muscle tissue, ya, that chapter!
