  • Missing Peanut Butter

    Extended Inductioneers,

Anyone missing peanut butter? I am.

I don't want to move up the rungs yet. Any creative ideas for faux peanut butter?

I know you're not supposed to eat any nuts in induction, but I've been eating peanut butter and still losing weight. In small quantities it's not too bad for you

I make sure to eat little bits of Laura Scudder's natural peanut butter, as its only ingredients are peanuts and salt, and it has the oil on top.

I like taking 4 packets of splenda and mixing it in. It keeps the oil (fat! YUM!! hehe) in the peanut butter and adds just a little kick.

But they're right, shouldn't have it until you climb up the rungs. I always falter when I start eating peanut butter. Thats hard stuff to moderate!!! LoL

Almond butter is very good when you get to the nut rung (so is cashew butter but you have to really watch as cashew have HUGE carb levels amongst the nuts). tahini is sesame butter and it's good too. at least those come long before the legume rung!

Atkins does list peanuts with nuts and seeds in DANDR - of I think that would make is OK to eat peanuts in that rung. Many people wait till legumes though. I can eat peanuts but I don't very often. Too easy to get carried away with them. When I eat nuts it is usually almonds.

Peanuts are rung 3. You can wait if you like. Lucky squirrels.

Yeah, 26 pieces of peanuts though....I wonder if you could make a spoonful of peanutbutter with that.

                        Re: Missing Peanut Butter

Liv and Lisa, I perused the peanut butter labels in my grocery store. The natural kind only had "peanuts and salt". I suppose taking a few peanuts and blend them up with a little salt could be the closet thing.

Mix a serving of natural peanut butter with a little whipped cream cheese and some liquid splenda. Very satisfying for your peanut butter craving!

Many people here find that they lose no more weight on extended induction than they do moving up the rungs, so for goodness sakes, MOVE ON UP! I mean, if you want peanut butter, you can HAVE it legally up the rungs. And if you're eating peanut butter, then you technically are NOT on extended induction, so you might as well move up anyway.

The variety the rungs provides really helps keep you on track -- it makes a huge difference. Try it -- you'll see!
