  • **Some Thoughts On The Big Picture**

    Hi Everyone, :wave

Well, I walked another WATP mile with my "big weighted balls"...ok I know that jokes worn thin, thin?..no pun intended.

    Anyway here's a thought.

Afterwards, I took my dog Tucker out for a walk, or rather he took me. It's beautiful out, the snow is melting and you can catch glimpses of patches of grass peeking through. And it occurred to me that here on the East Coast anyway the earth is coming back to life, waking up from a long loooooong sleeep.

And I thought that's an awful lot like our bodies isn't it?

The fat melting away - slowly but surely and a new beginning already starting to take place. It might not be evident right away because maybe you've just lost a pound or like me, lost two and put 3 back on - but the body fluctuates just like New England weather - here in CT we say "If you don't like the weather, just wait a second, it'll change"

My point is that so many of the advantages of this WOL...reach far beyond the scales and tape measures - and they can't be measured by either - ever

Just that you've come to the board, started Induction again or for the first time - all that matters is that you're here, right now..in the present.

The person we want to be is so within reach for all of us and I think the real beauty of reinventing ourselves may not be so much the final "goal weight" as it is the experience of the journey along the way.

    Just a thought...

I just wanna say Peter, you write so beautifully. And WATP Is so great isn't it? I bought the 2 mile walk yesterday, and will do it when I don't feel like sore from the 1 mile walk.

i honestly thought it would be just walking in place kinda boring but its a few different movements, and I like it. I can stick to it, and do it everyday!

Excellent point and beautiful post. If we stick to our guns, we will all have wonderful and inspiring stories, many on this board already do. Losing weight and getting healthy again is just another life experince to add to the many that we have already.

WATP is short for "Walk Away the Pounds" its a home exercise program that many folks here on the board suggested to me, I had never heard of it.

As a person who hates to exercise, needs to exersize I was really skeptical, I expected some Barbie Doll clone with a group of Super models behind her. But let me tell you it's anything but, it's fantastic!

Very gentle, encouraging and actually fun, it's not just walking in place, there are simple east to do and follow movement for anyone at any fitness level.

There are many programs available I bought the DVD set that has the one, two and three mile workouts and would recommend this program to anyone in a heart beat.

I don't have much room for exercise in my little home office so walking in place isn't so bad lol, how much room do I need to do this?
