    Hi everyone,

ive been on the atkins diet for 5 days now, this morning i felt a little uneasy like no energy...i have a difficulty with morning tea- im not quiet sure what to eat! i don't like eating meats in the morning (chicken breast slices are my mid-afternoon snack) anyways, today I went to the supermarket and found an atkins breakfast bar called Morning Shine, it only had 2g of carbs and 0.6g of sugar ( i ate it and it did the job!).
Is this bar ok to eat during induction?

Thanks in advance guys, really appriciate your help!

    Re: Atkins products

What was in it - you need to check the list of ingredients on any foods labelled 'suitable for Atkins induction' as many of them contain ingredients that are not 'legal'
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Most of the bars say they are acceptable for 'rungs 2, 3, and 4' that I have seen. Can't swear to that particular one.

Their website says they are allowed but I don't think the ingredients are on the allowed list. I like them myself but others will tell you they aren't good.

the ingredients for the bar are:

Soy crisps (soy protein [22%], tapioca starch, salt),
          Polydextrose,
Chocolate with sweetener (16%) (cocoa mass, sweetener [maltitol], cocoa butter, emulsifier [lecithin], vanilla), soy granulate, glyerine, gelatin hydrolysate, chocolate chunks (5%) (sweetener [maltitol], cocoa mass, lowfat cocoa, emulsifier [lecithin])
          Coconut,
          Non-hydrogenated vegetable fat,
          Whey protein,
          Non-hydrogenated sunflower oil,
          Vitamin and moneral [sic] blend,
          Emulsifier (lecithin),
          Non-hydrogenated vegetable oil,
          Flavourings,
          Sweetener (sucralose),
          Colour (beta carotene).

Is sucralose the same as splenda? it contains soy crsips which arent induction friendly...i hope this hasnt kicked me off ketosis =(

can anyone suggest and mid-afternoon snacks that are easy to take to work and are not vegetables or meat? i know thats pretty limiting..but any help will be great

          Thanks,

          Tiana

I assume you mean for induction. Why not veggies or meat? Cheese? Seafood?

              Hi!

I would stay way. In my personal experience I have actually gained weight by eating the morning bars and those dreaded coconut bars.......hmmmmmmmmm cooooocoooo nuuuuuuut baars.

Even the shakes, in my opinion and experience, cause stalls and at the least could hinder your maximum weight loss.
