  • Hello from Virginia... Here's my story

I have been successful at virtually everything I have ever set my mind to doing... except one thing.

I CANNOT lose weight! In this area I have always been a complete and utter failure.

    So here I am.

I am a yoyo dieter and a binge eater. I have tried Atkins, SBD, WW, volumetrics... I am always able to take off 5-10 pounds very quickly, but it never lasts.

    I currently weigh 215, I am 5' 8½" tall.

Will this vicious cycle ever end?

tudobeleza, I totally know how you feel over the past 5 years I have tried everything ww, SBD, Atkins ( i lost 54 pounds b4 giving in to temptation and never looking back) La weight loss. The think I have come to realize myself is that all of these diets are as successful as you let them be. You see people who have lost 100 pounds on weight watcher and 50 pounds on this or that. I am one who gets discouraged easily just like today for the past 3 days my weight has not changed and I see all thsi food that my husband eats and I think man I should just eat it. then I think No a diet is only as successful as you let it be. I know together we can end this vicious cycle.

      Hi Tori,
Upon exploring these forums, I can see that I am an Atkins cheater... wow! I don't do the induction phase correctly. I never have. I drink diet soda, coffee and tea... I eat oversized portions of veggies, I starve myself all day, fall sjhort of the 8 glasses of water and the daily carb counter is realistically closer to 50-60 instead of less than 20.

Why do I cheat myself this way?

Welcome! And just make a clean start at induction. It will take a few days to get on the ball and get used to it, but surely all of us are proof that it can be done!

I went from 170 to 134 in 4 months the first time I did Atkins! Had a really rough, stressful year which threw me back off track, but I'm trying hard to get back into induction.

Sometimes you just need that eye-opener to make sure you do your best
