Hello All,
Today is Day 15 for me......and I'm celebrating a squeaky clean Induction. Unlike the handful of times I've tried "doing atkins" before, I really made an effort to not cheat once. I kept thinking "is this worth how I'm going to feel tomorrow?".
I have never had so much energy in my entire life. I've been able to put in hour-long cardio sessions for the first time in ages. I was lucky I only suffered one day of Induction flu----probably because a week prior to starting Atkins, I withdrew caffeine from my diet. I wanted to make sure I put all the variables in place to succeed. So I only had sugar and flour withdrawals to deal with. I suggest this to anyone thinking of starting. Break your caffeine habit first..........set yourself up to succeed!
I'm going to stay on Extended Induction just one more week, for a total of three weeks. Then it's off to the next phase in this journey. I enjoy reading the threads and blogs, because it keeps me going in the carb-loading household I live in!
Take care,
Rita

"GOOD TIMES"
Great 2 week result

I think that's key... the first time I did atkins in 1997, there weren't really any "low carb foods" that weren't naturally that way to begin with. It wasn't till years later when I tried again after having my 2nd baby that I got caught up in trying to replace foods that naturally have carbs with fake no/low carb foods... and I never could make the diet work. This time I did an entire month of clean induction and just recently had 1 atkins bar because I was starving, on the road, and didn't really feel like a bunless burger or a salad. It didn't affect my weight loss, I still got my 3 lbs for the week!
