  • Corn bran

Browsing cereals at atkins.com, I noticed that corn bran has 0 carbs. Way to go!

But, looking at corn bran products in stores - eg Quaker - I notice they have added sugar.

Did the good doctor have any particular brand in mind, or was he assuming we could make our own? If the latter, how?

The corn bran the Atkins website refers to is crude (high maize) corn bran. But it has 0 carbs only in the right serving size, because they round down the numbers.

Also make sure you don't overdo it, or things will either get stuck in your intestines or you'll spend more time than you'd like in the bathroom. Use it as you would use any fiber supplement or wait until OWL Rung 9 (grains) to experiment with larger amounts.
