I just don't understand it. Today marks my seventh week on Atkins and I have only lost one pound since induction. Encouraged to move on to owl, I did so one week ago. I posted a typical induction menu and all said that it looked okay. This week I added 5 grams of carbs for three days, by means of jicima, asparagus, and cauliflower. I do not drink aspartame. I always check ingredients for hidden sugars. I drink at least 100 oz water daily. I walk/run 2 miles a day ( which is not an easy task when you have 6 month old twins and an almost three year old.) I am never hungry and have to force myself to eat. I do not cheat nor am I ever tempted. This WOE agrees with me . I just do not understand why I am not losing. I am almost tempted to quit and try low calorie dieting. I do not want to, but why keep going if the weight won't come off? I lost 16 pounds on induction which according to DANDR I have a low metabolic resistance. This does not seem to be the case. I hate taking pills of any sort but I also started taking CLA with tonalin just to see if it would help. Doesn't seem to. I lost 60 pounds fairly quickly last time I did Atkins and I didn't even do it right. I did a clean induction and then added fresh cheeses, nuts, and alcohol the very first week after induction. Still managed to lose 60 pounds. I don't mean to sound whiney,( I know I probably do) I am just so frustrated that I want to cry. Should I try a fat fast? Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated!! Thanks so much.

Re: Frustration.....
NO FAT FAST!! Ugh!! Don't even be tempted by that! You already know you have a low metabolic resistance. Doing the fat fast would be dangerous and quite frankly, I have heard you'll probably start dropping weight and then as soon as you switch back, you get it all back and maybe a little more. I believe it's not a safe thing for anyone who doesn't truly qualify by Dr. Atkins standards and believe me, few people really do.
Oh, I am so sorry you are so discouraged. I really am! I understand how frustrating it is. Please believe me when I tell you, you are due for a whoosh! It does happen. Have you measured with a measuring tape? Have you been exercising and walking/running 2 miles all along or did you just begin doing it when you restarted Atkins? Going low calorie might ensure you gain every bit of your losses back. I'd hate to see that happen to you when I know all you really want is progress and quitting this WOE isn't going to bring you progress. Any other ideas? Are you taking any medications? Hang in there. We're going to figure it out!!
Oh, and you're allowed to sound whiney. That's okay, too!

Re: Frustration.....
Can you post a link to where you posted your menu? I could not find it.

Re: Frustration.....
Thanks Liv. I wasn't sure how to post a link to where I posted my menu. I think I figured it out? Let me know if it worked. Yes I have been measuring. No inches lost. I do a combo of 3 min. walking then I run for 1 minute. I do this for 2 miles. I started doing this right after induction. I also get in any extra activity that I can, like parking as far away as I can in a parking lot, always taking stairs. etc. I'm not on any meds. I was on high blood pressure meds during and after my pregnancy but have been off of them for the past three 1/2 months. I had severe pitted edema also during my pregnancy and was put on Lasix ( DIURETIC) and potassium. I am also off of those meds. I still have slight pitted edema that does not seem to want to go away. I saw a nutritionist also during my prenancy who told me that I am very sodium sensitive. So I am very careful with my salt intake. I did have a tubal ligation after my twins and my TOM has been messed up ever since. I am usually able to tell when it's coming though due to TOM symptoms, so I don't think that my weight loss stall is due to that. I have also had my thyroid tested and doc. said all is well. I feel like I am doing everything right. I just don't get it. It's funny because I read complaints from people because they are only losing 1 or 2 pounds a week. I would be thrilled with that at this point!! Anyways, I am getting long winded now, lol. Thanks again.

Re: Frustration.....
The link worked.
You are right. That menu is looking pretty good.
Do you use fitday? I was wondering how many calories you may be eating a day.
Are your percentages fine?
Hang in there. Drink your water.

You can try one of the other food recording sites if fitday annoys you.

Re: Frustration.....
Well. I tried fitday again, and we got along a little better. lol. My percentages look ok I guess. I only did one day, but is pretty typical of what I eat on a day to day basis. Fat 68% protein 29% carbs 3%. Calories were pretty alarming. 2,175 calories. Doesn't seem right somehow. Should I try cutting back on calories? How do I do this and still get my fat? Maybe try smaller portions of meat? AARRGGG!!!!!! Thanks

Re: Frustration.....
You may try to cut back a bit. Maybe a little bit less cheese. Cheese can be a bit problematic for some.

Re: Frustration.....
Don't give up! I've been there before, I think most of us have at some point, and trust me, it's not worth giving it all up!
If you don't want to cut your cals, increase your exercise- not by time, but quality. I'm following the Body for Life programme (physical only, not the diet) and it works great! Instead of walking/running/going to the gym every day I invested in the exercise bike and ride it 3 x a week in front of tv in the evening. I'm in the gym also 3 x per week, on the days I don't do cardio (bike), but my workout only takes me 45 mins, and trust me, you don't need more than that!
I've given up so many times before, and it took me that long to realise that what ppl say it's true- push through it and the results will come sooner than you think!
All the best-e

Re: Frustration.....
Here is my two cents. You lost 16 pounds on Induction. That is a lot of adjustment for your body. Many many people experience a three to four (and sometimes longer) week stall right after Induction. It is kind of a "sorting things out" time for your body. And if TOM is in there at any time that can complicate things. I know it is frustrating but you need to decide that your body is trying to hold onto the old weight and you need to be more patient than your body is. I really mean this with my whole heart because my body has always lost with a wait and whoosh pattern and it can drive you nuts unless you develop a wait it out mindset.
Don't give in and cheat or shake things up by going to a different diet. This halt will break and you will get a whoosh. You have to wait it out. In the meantime, concentrate on the positives. You like the WOE, you feel good, you have energy. Put the scale away for a month and see at the end if you have had a drop. Don't forget to measure. This month I gained two pounds but lost 6 inches. I will take the inches over the pounds any day.
Hang in there.

Re: Frustration.....
Thank you so much everyone for your words of encouragement. I will NOT give up!! Will try and change up my exercise and be more aware of my caloric intake. P.s. I recalculated my calories from the menu I entered on fitday using the calories listed on the packaging at home. I got far less. Like 500 calories less!! Has anyone else experienced this, or did I just majorly mess up my fitday entry? LOL
