  • Atkins Advantage Bars

My induction so far is going really well and I am following the rules to word for word. My sticks have changed color and weight is starting to come off. Im sticking to all natural meats and foods to avoid getting caught with funny preservative nasties, a trip to the market gardner for salads and meat rather then Coles, which laces their meats with cane sugar, rice fillers etc and all sorts of things I have never heard before. Its amazing when you read the label how much I didn't realize they put on things you wouldn't dream would have a preserve or taste additive..

I did go shopping today and noticed a branded Atkins Endulge, Advantage Bar. While I would not consume this on a induction as I know its forbidden, I would like to know if these are official or even allowed on Atkins.

More info can be found @ www.atkins.com

They both contain very different ingredients and on the packet it says All Phases.

The fact they are on the Australia shopping market shelves being US products makes them very dear around 3 to 4 AUS dollars each..

    Re: Atkins Advantage Bars

Most people here refer to the Atkins bars as "frankenfood" since they are mainly chemicals thrown together to resemble real food. Likewise, they will encourage you to stay away from them based on the fact that many of us find that they stall our weight loss efforts.

I will say that on rare occasion I have bought some of these for a camping trip or a situation where normal food wasn't a viable option. They're good in a pinch, but as a general rule, I am in agreement with everyone else here: stay away from frankenfood for best results.

By the way, the bars aren't just expensive in Australia. They sell for US$3 each here as well.
