  • I Don't Remember Reading About This Stage...

...you know, the pee out of your butt stage? I don't think I read that in the book yet - is it in there?

It's amazing what a complete and total overhaul to your everday diet will do to your bowels.

I am praying I don't have an attack on the highway on my way home from work tonight, lol.

Day 4 is going well btw - I ate my breakfast late though because I woke up late. So didn't get it in until almost 10:30am. Still, less then 6 hours since I woke up - so I thought that was good.

Tonight I am going to buy some salmon and asparagus for supper tonight. Going to use one of those salmon recipes from Linda's site - with the parsley and lemon slices.

I need to repeat again how wonderful those stuffed green peppers were last night - my husband thought they tasted like stuffed potatoes.

    Mini Goals:

Goal 5 - Lowest weight reached on WW after having 1st child

    Goal 9 - 150 lbs down
    Goal 10 - Weight in Grade 8
    Goal 11 - Weight in Grade 6

OMG gross! Maybe it's not the diet? That never happened to me.

You need some soluble fiber. Take a few tablespoons of psyllium husks (2-3), spread throughout the day. Dissolve a tablespoon into a glass of water, drink it and then drink another glass of water. You might need to adjust the amount depending on how you... "feel". After the problem is solved, don't take more than 1 tbsp of fiber supplement per day.

ETA: Umm... by the way, are you eating anything sweetened with sugar alcohols (e.g. Atkins bars)? Or stuff with artificial sweeteners, like diet sodas?

Nothing except what's on the induction menu. I'm not too concerned about it, I was just remarking lol. Diet changes do that to my body. Once my body gets over the initial shock it'll go back in tune.

Plus - I can't see me wanting to spend more money on food then I am right now buying fresh meat and vegetables, lol. Let alone buying Atkins bars or drinking diet soda. Aspartame gives me headaches, so I've been off that stuff for six years.

            Oooooo I just read this:

For the first few days of Atkins Diet Induction phase, you will be withdrawing from sugar and caffeine addiction. It will take 3 to 7 days for the sugar and caffeine addiction to leave your system. During this time, you may find that withdrawal from sugar and caffeine food addiction causes you to have headaches, diarrhea, nausea, "brain fog", and muscle cramps. This is commonly referred to as "induction flu". These are temporary side effects of Atkins Diet Induction phase. Soon, you will experience more energy, better moods, and no hunger pangs.
So - gross yes, but completely normal. I already feel more energy, better moods, and no hunger pangs. I just have to deal with the side effects first while my body adjusts.

Re: I Don't Remember Reading About This Stage...

Just wanted to say that I'm on day 5 and I *think* mine is starting to subside. This is the first day that I haven't felt like I had to run in to the bathroom at any point in time. I'm kind of scared to leave the house! Here's to hoping it's just part of the induction flu...

I guess we all just react differently to the induction period.

I bought my salmon and asparagus!!
