Okay, my sister got use to me cheating about once a week with something yummy. Thing is its not yummy to me any more. When I cheat I am really disappointed in how the food tastes. It doesn't even taste the same as use to to me. I eat it and go, Why?????? My weight went down to 150.6 and my sister told me what I said I'd eat when I got there. She said she thought 150 was my goal weight. I told her it wasn't. Then she told me if I lost 20 or 30 more pounds I'd look like a haggard coke whore. It doesn't end with her. I still see my ex, we just don't live together. He is telling me I look good, I can quit dieting. But he jiggled my belly today in Walmart! Grrrr! They are really getting to me. Both of them are heavier than me. Its like they really don't want me to ever get to my goal weight. Has this happened to anyone else? People trying to get you go off the diet or quit the diet before you get to goal weight. I'm not too thin, I put on a pair of 8's and you can see its just a roll of fat hanging over the top, not my muscles or bones or anything. My ex jiggles me, he knows its still there. I only have about 20 pounds to go, but if these people keep messing with me, its gonna take forever!!!

My Family is getting annoying!

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.
1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
2nd mini goal: 140!
3rd mini goal:135!
4th mini goal: 130!
I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask. -

Geez, if you are going to be jealous, at least be subtle about it. That comment was beyond rude...it was mean. Sometimes it's just best to try to avoid toxic people. You know that her jealousy and comments are going to continue to escalate as you get thinner and will continue relentlessly when you are in maintenance with the hopes that you'll crack and re-gain your weight. Looks like he's got a touch of the green demon too...or maybe he's realizing and regretting that he's now your ex and rude, uncalled for jiggling is all he's gonna get.
Don't let either of them deter you from goal. In fact, use that to boost you on. Yeah...Go RitaCeleste!!!

Thankyou so very much! I don't need to tell you these people were getting me down. My sister lives with me and totally refuses to do anything much about her weight. She goes up and down the same ten pounds over and over. She lost some and has kept it off. I kinda hoped that if she saw me doing the diet over time it'd rub off her. NOT! My ex is still getting some, lol. He's good at that atleast! But yeah, he was suppose to go on a diet when I did and he quit. He is self concious about his weight. I think that jiggle reassures him I'm not perfect yet either. But it makes it really hard for me not to say, "What the heck, pass the chips and dip!" I just feel like I've lost this much and I'm not gonna quit this close to the finish line. But I really needed someone to cheer me up after a day with those two! THANK YOU!

BTW, I noticed that you ARE really close to goal...do you think you should start moving up the rungs? I'm so far away from that point but I read other posts that mention that you need time to get through those rungs so you can eventually get your CCLM. Just a thought...

Yeah, I am working up them this time. I went off the diet and ended up limiting my carbs in the end. The biggest problem for me is gonna be getting hungery again. I just got up to rung 4 and I want to stay here for awhile. I still limit my carbs a lot. I can eat more and stay the same weight. But to get the weight off, I have to keep them pretty low. I figure when I get to goal I can move up the rungs farther. I end up gaining some water weight when I add in carbs. I'm not sure where I want to end up weightwise yet. It may take loosing a few extra pounds to make up for the water.

I don't really know much about this yet but there is a woman on another board (a strict by the DANDR book type) who has been in maintenance since 2004 and only has 20-30g carbs a day in maintenance. So I think there must be some sort of juggling and trade off with the new rung foods/carbs ....meaning that you wouldn't be having dairy, nuts, beans, starchy veggies, etc. all in the same day. Based on that you could still move up the rungs but keep your carbs low. I would definitely ask some of the experts over on the OWL board though so you can finish up right this time. Plus, some of those other foods would be nice to have again once in a while.

Yeah, I'm still thrilled with strawberries! The trade off has been so far I can have a serving or so a week and all goes fine. I am afraid to keep nuts in my house cause I eat them all gone! But yeah, I could probably add more foods. Most of what I want, I can't have right now anyway. I cheated a little this week. I want oatmeal. Stupid I know. But the dear people in my life have kinda been pushing me to eat things I shouldn't. In the end I blame me. I'm going to go read about what I could be eating, lol.

But when you are ready to move up you can even with a low CCLL. I made it to rung 9 no problem. You just "cycle" you carbs. So the day I want to eat lentils I cannot eat berries. Or if I want to eat fruit I cannot eat neither berries or lentils. But on a given day I could always have one high rung item for 5 carbs even with a low CCLL.

I live with my husband and mother -- we are all Type 2 diabetics but I'm the only one doing anything about my weight. Mother's endocrinologist told her because of her age she wouldn't put her on a strict diet or demand much of her -- just eat well, aboid sugar and candy.....My husband had triple bypass 3 years ago and originally lost 30 pounds but put them and probably 30 more on.
It doesn't matter what I do or say no one listens to me (I'm invisible in this house) about what they should eat or portions...so I stopped saying anything and am taking care of myself. I have come to the conclusion someone has to be healthy in this house to take care of the 2 who aren't and who have no desire to help themselves.
When I first started Atkins there was plenty of suggestions and comments coming my way. I didn't let them get to me and I've actually become stronger with their insults and rude comments.
I start each meal the same - I pick the meat for all of us, then I build from there. I normally always have a small salad with veggies and some type of vegetable on the side then figure what starches they have to have. I make sure my plate is colorful and looks good because that way I feel better eating the healthy meal I'm having over the starch laden foods they eat.
I tried to change the way my husband ate to make him healthier but when mom moved in with us all that went out the door.
Stay strong and don't let them get to you -- take their words and turn them around to make you stronger and more determined to get to your goal. You can do this!! If you need help I'm here everyday!Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily
