  • Special catagory foods....

I the book there is a section on special catagory foods... can you eat these foods in addition to the carbs you have already counted for the day or may you go over 20 carbs with these items? (Olives, 1/2 avacado, sour cream, lemom/lime juice)
    ??

I am aware that these foods also may slow weight loss but am just curious...

Induction is 20 net carbs. You should not go over.

By the way, are most of your net carbs coming from vegetables?

This does not make sence then, in the acceptable foods allowed in induction under the special food catagory it states you may eat 10-20 olives. 10 olives would be 20g og carbs all on it's own??? I'm not saying that I'm going to eat 20 olives, but am I missing something?

You have to count the carbs for everything you eat, and your total NET carb count (total carbs-fibre) needs to be under 20 every day.

10 olives is 20 net carbs? What is the source of this?

In the USDA database, 10 large olives have 1.35 net carbs.

Oh ok - I see now, I was putting the nutritional info in from the label on my olives into fitday but the label doesn't list fiber...

Does it list 20 g of carbohydrate in 10 olives? 10 olives do not have 20 g of carbohydrate... total or net.

my label reads 2 gm for 2 olives - they are large green bought from the deli.... again this is not taking out the fiber.

It doesn't list any.. they are large green olives, not in any water or oil. The labels says:

                      Serving size - 2 olives
                      Calories 15
                      Fat- 1 g

                      Sod - 220 mg
                      Carbs - 2g

^^ also I just read what I posted originally and meant that 10 olives would be 10 carbs if I was just reading the label alone.

Okay, I got it. You must have what's entered as jumbo-super colossal olives in the USDA database. I was looking at the small-extra large ones.

They look fine. I would use the pre-defined FitDay entry for them though. It's "Olives, ripe, canned (jumbo-super colossal)".

                              These are BLACK olives.

What Lucyloo is eating are GREEN olives.

The Fitday entry would be "olives, green, stuffed".
