  • STAC Roll Call ~ Wednesday 11/04/09

    Here an on plan. Sitting exactly at 216 where I was last Friday, I'm hoping I've had my up and all around for this week and tomorrow is my day for a down. I have to say that I am getting a little frustrated at the pace of things. While I realize it took me much longer to put the weight on, I was hoping to have at least the 2 pound per week loss that I've always experienced in the past and am starting to wonder if Atkins is really going to work for me long term. I honestly think I was loosing faster in my previous attempts when I would throw a couple of 6 packs of Michelob Ultra Lite in each week. I have not had 1 cheat in nearly 5 weeks and my mind is starting to play games with me saying stuff like, well maybe if you carb up for a day or two it will jump start things again. But I know how that goes, and if I give in to that voice you most likely won't see me around again for another year and ten or more pounds up.

    Even though I'm officially on Rung 2, I haven't really upped my daily carb level much. Most days I stay right around 20 and use the rungs for an occasional treat. I have to tell that stupid voice inside my head to shut up and leave me alone, I'm comfortable on the journey and no reason to jump ship now.
    1st Goal ~ 199 Onderland -Met 3/29/10
    2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
    3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
    Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight

    Current Mini Goals:
    1) 35 pounds lost
    2) 40 pounds lost to move to Rung 5
    3) 45 pounds lost to update 15 pound loss picture series

    come on Barb - no getting frustrated...keep it going!! I'm a slow loser too, lots of patience!

    228 this morning, so at my low, which makes me happy! Eating really well this week and feeling good. My hub even said that I looked good yesterday - what a sweetie. Makes me happy.

      Congrats Barrnone and thanks for the encouragement, in fact watching you go through basically the same thing and sticking it out is inspiring to me. I actually watch for your post each day and wish a whooshie for you too, cause I know if the whooshie fairy visits you she just might visit me too if I stick it out. I'm not seriously thinking about giving in to that little voice, but it is pretty darn convincing when it keeps telling me I was loosing faster last year when I was still drinking during this woe. But then I look at that big beer gut on my first pic below and say "shut up little voice, I can't even see that belly from my angle now, lol". So I know I'm loosing inches, I wish I would have measured in the beginning but I couldn't and still can't find my tape measure.

        I'm here, I'm disappointed in myself for some bad booboos this weekend and Monday, but dispite momentary glitches I have gotten right back onto Atkins the minute after I ate the big bad thing.

        Not weighing myself until this weekend (challenge!) and struggling with the unknown as to when we have to move to another state (hunny got transferred but we're waiting on transfer of security clearance). Could be December, could be end of December, could be January..and I have to get a job up there......AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

          thanks Barb, that's so sweet of you to say - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I think you really should find that tape measure - last month, those lost inches really helped.

            I'm here and on plan. I am refusing to weigh myself until Friday. I'm just afraid that if I weigh every day that I'll begin to be discouraged. Friday's tend to show something even it's if just a little.

            Barb, I'm so sorry you've hit a plateau. Have you considered moving back into rung one for a week to see if it makes a difference? Are you measuring? Because you may be missing some loss there too.
