    Georgiana told me that I should eat about 1700 calories per day, and that is working great! I was just wondering, when I start moving into the rungs, would my calorie intake have to change? How does one figure out how many calories to eat, or will it always be around 1200?

    Well ... it's thought that no one on Atkins should be eating less than 1500.

    Using the "rule of thumb" of eating at 10-12 times your current weight, 1950 calories might work out for you, too.

    So, as you lose weight, your caloric demands will decrease, but you probably wouldn't want to eat as low as 1200.

    Some also have success eating at 250 calories above their Basal Metabolism Rate, which can be figured here:
