  • !st week Atkins

I started on March 30 and I'm happy to announce a drop in weight of 11.5 pounds. That's a great start for me. My goal is 50-65 pounds. I did Atkins back in 2003 and dropped 20 pounds first month, 20 pounds second month.

My diet consists of Farmer John skinless sausage & a bit of cheese, and about 11am, salami, pork steak, decaf tea, for dinner baby back pork ribs with a small salad with vinegar/oil, or steak & shrimp scampi,or chicken breast & shrimp. Occasionally, I'll get a hamburger patty with salad and some sauteed mushrooms, decaf coffee.

    I hope I continue.

    Happy Easter to All!

    I hope you continue, too!

You really need more vegetables though.

From my first time on Atkins, I go into Ketosis quickly because a few days before March 30, I already was weaningf myself from sugars and carbs. For me Atkins is easier when I prepare myself like I did this time. It wasn't a big shock to my system. I just hope I can stay on it and lose the weight. I might have to exercise this second time around.

        Happy Easter!

              What a great start!!

Imagine how well you will do once you start on your exercise plan
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                Re: !st week Atkins

My two week period will end on Monday, April 12. So far, I've managed to lose 13.5 pounds. I'm thinking around 15 pounds by Monday. No cravings for me and I'm eating a very good dinner. My waitress ladies have all pitched in on what I order and how I want my food prepared. They have provided me with many choices.

Hoping to achieve my goal in June.

                    Re: !st week Atkins

Thanks Booklady. I've introduced a few more veggies/salads but keeping to twp cups a day on salad. I've never been a sweet tooth person, so eliminating most sugars was easy. BBQ Lemon Herb pepper chicken breast with mushrooms & onions is my favorite at dinner hour. I mix a tiny bit of ranch dressing with vinegar/oil for my salad.

Hoping you also achieve your goals.

                        Re: !st week Atkins

Kerri, do you have a journal you post in every day ? It makes such a differance and then others can post and give you support !!
If you do, then put it in your siggy so others can find you and give you the support you need, that we all need !!
I know I could not do this without all the support I get here !!
please drop by my journal and I will be happy to help you and be there for you, I know how hard this plan can be, I know I have been on this path on and off since 2004 and need to make this time around the one for life because I want to be healthy !!
