  • Dieters May Face Splenda Shortage

    STOCK UP!
HEALTH NEWS — Dieters hoping for a slew of new products with the sugar substitute Splenda may be disappointed next year.
That's because the maker of sucralose, the key ingredient behind the increasingly ubiquitous no-calorie sweetener, is having trouble keeping up with demand.

That's really interesting, I'm already having a hard time finding it here. I find only the boxed baking splenda, I'm having a very hard time finding the packets now.

I've recently started using Stevia because I couldn't find Splenda and i'm pretty happy with it..though it takes a little getting used and (and it costs twice as much!)

That's because that is an article from back in December of 04. Jenn, if you need Splenda, I can get it easily and would be happy to ship you some!

I bought a box of Splenda almost 2 years ago and still have most of it left! So I'm not real concerned with a shortage personally! :nono

Actually now that i've switched to stevia I think i'll stick with it, I seemed to have got used to it..and the price of it has me not eating nearly as much sweetener as i used to! ...but i did notice the stores seem to be absent of it, sugar twin packets, equal etc is all still there, but no splenda packets.

        Thanks for the offer though!

OK, if you change your mind its an open offer though!

I got free samples of stevia in the mail last year and have yet to try them so I don't know if I'll like them or not.

They have two-box packages at Costco with a "gift" cookbook or something. I really don't use it enough to care. I didn't buy any recently, but I've seen it there.

stevia takes some getting used to...I don't think it's really sweet as much as it kinda gives a 'cool' sensation in your mouth that tricks your brain to think it's sweet.

OK I know that sounds weird..but if you try it you'll see what I mean LOL
