Default Exposed! Secret Mod Reinduction Challenge

Yeah due to the cyclical nature of life many of the mod's decided to start the year off w/a clean two week induction to blow past the holiday season. We decided we could all keep each other motivated

I announced around Thanksgiving I wanted to let my body get used to my new lower weight. If you've read my posts you know I actually suggest hanging out & getting used to the new you before heading out on another losing spree at predetermined intervals. But hey that's just me since I'm a former Diabetic my Blood Glucose levels are what I care about most & losing pounds is secondary to that.

I also was going to concentrate on exercise & trying to find my carb equilibirium level or whatever the heck the latest acronym it is they call it now. I did just that, ate more carbs than I had been, even feasted on some low carb chocolates a few times, had a few bean based stews, etc-at one point I was up around 4lbs but came out at the end exactly where I started which is what I planned.

So several of the other mods decided for various reasons to join me just to start the new year off right. We are all human; we celebrate during the celebratory season so now it's time to buckle down for a while.

I don't know how the other mods will feel about me starting this thread but you know maybe we can post daily starting today & others can join in-sort of like an exercise challenge type thing or ??? who's got some other ideas how to structure it to keep a lot of people motivated & doing it.

Another idea I have is maybe we can post some sample meal menu's we're doing for the newbies to see. I remember when I was 1st starting out on this WOL I was really confused about what/how to eat. I read the book carefully but Atkins leaves it kind of open when it comes to actual meal plans & you have to figure out what dishes work for you. Later on I appreciated his open ended approach which allows everybody to work out their own menu that works for them based on the list of approved induction foods, but at 1st I was frantically looking for specific menu plans/meal ideas & they just weren't there.

So why don't all you new members join us?
I know for a fact that we have had a very large number of new members join us over just the past few days.

Also for all the mod's as we reinduct we can refamiliarize ourselves upfront & personally w/induction & help ourselves focus on the correct & relevant info for getting others going.

& to the other Mods now I've brought us out of the closet so to speak, any ideas how to do this so that most people can benefit from it?

So today, was my 1st day back on it. Breakfast was Turkey Pastrami scrambled together w/eggs NYC style

Lunch was a mixed salad, some home-made chicken-veggie soup & a little smoked trout w/lemon squeezed over it & lots of good old water

Oh yeah just had a snack of a few almonds & a couple of walnuts too.

I am with you Skank and Bren. It has been awhile since I did this as you know so let's all stick together on this.
However ummmmmmmmm Skank you had a snack of what did you say, almonds and walnuts. Now I ask you are those legal induction foods? ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Just asking?
All the newbiew will be waiting to here on this one or busy checking their books to see.
since it is only early morning here where I am, I had sausage, egg, and cheese, and a cup of decaf coffee with half & half creamer in it.
Yep I have already used up an oz of my cheese allotment but that is okay I have if figured out and the only time I use the half and half is in the morning in that first cup of decaf.
Now on to the water.

I'm joining the Mod Re-Induction Challenge, but I'm not going to do a totally clean Induction because I'm so close to goal weight. I have real issues with body image and as tempting as it is to keep losing, I know that it's not healthy and it doesn't look good when you're too thin. With that in mind, I'll point out where I'm not following Induction or where newbies might see some problems.

4:30 am (My God, I'm crazy) 1 hr cardio/weight tape
Breakfast: sugar-free vanilla latte, made with heavy cream and a mini-carb cinnamon apple muffin (3 net carbs). This is *not* a good breakfast: no protein, caffeine, low-carb replacement. Normally I'd have fried eggs or an omlette, but someone made me the muffins and they won't wait two weeks.

Lunch: 'Pizza' and broccoli with cheese sauce. This one's a little heavy on the cheese. The 'pizza' is legal because the 'crust' is made with cheese and eggs. About 5 carbs. The cheese sauce is cheddar and heavy cream. When I'm actively trying to lose, I can't have this much cream or cheese.

Planned dinner: Steak and veggies. Going out and I'm not sure what's available.

I think the nuts are 'legal' if you just eat a couple (a small palmful is the books wording)
That is why I make it almonds & walnuts as I can do just a couple
Peanuts or Cashews I can't control & end up eating a bunch.

Oh nuts!!!! No, I mean --- NO NUTS!!! LOL

Nuts is one reason why this re-induction period is going to be so hard for me. "Yall" all know that my favorite dish is a spoonful of extra crunchy peanut butter (with the jar being kept in the refrigerator) and I can lick it off of the spoon little by little-- real slow. BUT ------ not until OWL, skank!!! I think this IS the Induction Forum. We gotta go by the good ole' DANDR Revised 2002 edition. The same time we're doing this we are inspiring other newbies to follow along so we have to teach 'em the right way.

This will be hard but I've sent my husband to the commissary with an induction foods list already this morning. I had an egg and two pieces of bacon for breakfast and a big bottle of water!!! YUM!!! I can't wait until lunch which will be homemade tuna salad with nothing but tuna, eggs and sugar free mayo. I plan supper to be a pork loin with a side salad and more water, of course. I'm concerned about eating hamburger and it was a BIG part of my menus earlier. Just don't know what to do. I think I need to find a butcher to grind my meat for me. Would that be safe enough? Also, I cook my meat very WELL done. I don't like any pink in it so maybe that will even be safer. This mad cow debate going on has given me lots to think about but ultimately it's a personal decision everyone is going to have to make.

That's all folks! I'm in this with the rest of you. I will confess that I DO need this re-induction time. I'm only human too, skank!! Nobody is anybody else's judge here. I'm not worried because I know I can do it with the help of my friends at this wonderful site. I LOVE THE ADBB!!!

Hey, where's Tom?? He's got to commit on this thread. TOM, where are you????

Today is day 2 of induction for me. So far so good.
I lost before on Atkins so I know it works.

I am not sure what "MOD" means could someone please explain??

TIA
