| Hi I"m new to the board but have a few questions. I started the induction phase New Years Day this year. I"m about 60lbs over weight and heading on a tropical vacation April 9th I want soo bad to be down so that I feel comfortable wearing nice things. So far I lost 5 lbs the first week and down 2 more down today. I find it really frustrating as I"m watching everything, I normall have meat a couple of times a day and salad,5 cups of green tea But I"m not noticing where I"m losing my weight and starting to think the scale is lying to me lol...PLEASE ANY AND ALL ADVISE IS WELCOMED to help me lose at least 25 lbs by April 9th Need Help in Canada. Thanks :wave |

| hey you may still want to seek out the advice of one of the "veterans" on this board, but one bit i can offer is this: lighten up on your goal. 20 lbs a month is a lot to lose, and aside from it being very ambitious (meaning if you don't reach it, especially by the specific date you've mentioned, you're likely to be very disappointed/discouraged), it could potentially harm your health. when you set such an extreme goal, with a very specific "deadline" it can make reaching that goal particularly challenging. the human brain is a very tricky instrument... you CAN reach this goal, however. i would just advise that you allow yourself more time. that way you won't end up beating yourself up for not completing your weight loss by said date. it will only set you up for disaster. and i am speaking from my own personal experiences, by the way. good luck. you can and will lose the weight. give yourself some time, though. it will be better for you in the end, in so many ways. |

Set a goal to do everything you can do perfectly on Atkins, not to lose a certain amount in such a short time or you'll be frustrated when it does not happen- believe me on this one! Depite the fact that some people rev up and lose incredibly fast, for a lot of us it's an ounce-by-ounce battle every day. My goal is to lose 18 pounds by march 1st- if I don't I'll deal with it but you can't force your body to lose weight until it's ready. Seriously- despite the logical math that says you should be losing, you might not be anyway. Post on the check my menu forum to see about what you're eating. Make sure you're taking your supplements and drinking your water and exercising. Also, try starting a fitday.com journal to track yoru food and more. Make sure the food you're eating is all induction-friendly and most of all, be patient with yourself. It's a long journey
