| Just read your post, and it's encouraged me to drink more water, since I've been slipping lately. However, how do you get your urine to be clear when you're taking all those supplements/ The basic 3 turns my urine neon green almost, even on days that I drink 200 oz of water.,

| :flowerki: i started induction yesterday the 4th of january. i had attempted to truly atkins in november, allowed myself to get sidetracked and went off and just about quit. but i got an email from tom regarding this website and the message boards. i hung around reading, and crying and reading and crying in between stuffing myself with killer carbs and feeling miserable. although i must say there were many meals that i ate low carb. well i got sick and tired of being sick and tired, i hated my wol and my woe,(by the way i have become bilingual thanks to you folks) and wanted what you all had or were on the way to achieving. i love, respect and admire the encouragement, the honesty and the courage that you have all shared with the world. obesity is epidemic in the united states as we all know and they are many who would take advantage of those seeking help and a quick cure. today is the second day of atkins induction for me. professionally i am a registered nurse, a cardiology nurse by training. many of colleagues are caring around too much fat as we teach our patients how to have a healthy heart and to adapt a healthy lifestyle. what a joke!!!!! diabetes is rampant as the weight of nation increases. as the babyboomers age and need hospitilization, the nursing shortage increases with nurses such as myself overweight and a babyboomer myself. i took a long hard honest look at myself, in the mirror, sans clothing. it was not easy and sure wasn't pretty!!!! for the past ten years, when looking at myself in the mirror i only glanced at myself from the head up. well did i get a BIG surprise this past weekend. oh well, i could have drowned my sorrows in a loaded carb weekend but instead i chose to read many posts from the message board, look at pictures, see successes and get real with myself, i mean come on now, did i really think that if i did not see the fat hanging off my abdomen no one else did either!!!!!!! denial is a river in egypt. i guess i could go on forever but as scarlett always says "tomorrow is another day". but for today i have eaten atkins induction, i am not hungry, working on the water. i am going for a walk, though it is cold outside i have quite a layer of fat to keep me insulated. i do get a little scared that this is too easy, but just for today i can do anything for 24 hours. thank you for sharing your life with me. please take care and stay safe. |

| I probably drink gallons of water each day! lol! And at the moment, this time round, am finding it easy not to cheat. I just dont feel tempted. The only problem I'm having is exercise. I'm working full time, plus am an Avon rep and honestly already feel like I have no spare time. How can I try to fit in exercise without wearing myself out even more than I am at the moment and still have time for myself??? I'm not making excuses, I'd really like to keep fit. I love dancing, and erm, a tumble in the sheets shall we say? the most. *blush* But I always feel so worn out already. *sigh*

| I really appreciate all the tips (and soulbearing). I have to agree with shank - multi-tasking is a given (ask ANY mother :laughing ) and crazy-making! I drink gallons - well maybe quarts- of water every day and it makes a BIG difference. My "problem" this past fall was that our school schedule changed to four 90 minute periods daily. The students can take a pass to the bathroom but I had to hold it (no fun) and I'm also on BP meds that make you run to the rr constantly. I ended up cutting back on water One way to sneak in exercise is to wear a pedometer and keep track of steps. I got a great one from the Walking store online and on days I know that I won't be able to fit in a workout, I try to "walk". I found that I was walking more and more just to get a higher number. I started parking further away, taking the long way around campus and going up/down stairs, more. Viola! Fitness that is part of life. Take care and good luck on the journey.

| Wal-Mart carries Sam's Choice Brand "Clear American" Flavored Water and comes in some great choices. They have both 20 oz bottles and 33.8 oz bottles and is very inexpensive. 0 calories, 0 sodium, zero carbs, 0 sugar. But it does have Aspartane. I hated the taste of water too but some months back decided I was drinking way to much diet coke, so I use the empty bottles of Clear Amerian and fill them with water and put in the fridge. Then I get one soda and one water bottle and sip from both so I have cut back on the coke just by doing this. And I am finally starting to like the water. It's sort of a mini-reward system for me. Clear American come in so real good tasting flavors. I am partial to Strawberry, Golden Peach, Strawberry Kiwi, Blackberry Apple and Especially to the new one, Mango Peach. This stuff also helped me get off so much soda. |

| Drink tons of water, and if you don't like to drink it, try it through a straw. It goes down much easier and you can finish a quart in a flash just sitting here on the computer chatting on the Atkins site... |

| WOW! you all are soo passionate!!! I guess when we are dealing with such a personal issue as our weight who wouldn't be. I can say that I am one of the people who suffered terribly from aspartame toxicity. I used to drink about four diet (no caffeine) sodas everyday. My doctors thought I had MS or some other crazy immune disorder. I was told to just "TRY" to go without it for even one month and see how I feel, if it didn't change then to go back to my pop if I want. One month and I was a new person,,, no more awful symptoms,,, no more pain. I resorted to juice and some water (not good for the weight glug, glug, glug
