| There was one week during this process I put my foods religiously into Fitday and realized I was loosing wt on over 2000 calories a day....in the past when I was dieting instead of trying to learn to eat right ...I would restrict myself to under 1000 a day ....I lost more weight then I expected and have kept it off a year...I eat very well now and would not dream of counting a calorie...when I am content ..I stop eating ...a learned process .... how can someone my size loose weight on so many calories? ...well I honestly think this article explains that nicely the best part of this is my tummy is FLAT!! the type and portion of food ..is what matters ...thanks so much for posting that ..... I eat healthy fresh foods to include cream, cheese and butter I also know what and when things trigger me .... I would not change what I am doing for a million bucks ...I like being spoiled |

| This is an awesome article (as per usual, Isabeau). I totally agree that not all calories are equal in nature. I love that fiber sticks to the gut longer, and that fat is more slowly digested than starches, as an example. This is why I not only count calories, but I make those calories count! Education is the key, and articles like this help people understand that low-carb dieting is a viable way to take those pounds off because of the quality of the calories and not the quantity.

| yep that is what Dr Atkins calls the metabolic advantage of Atkins. that is also why he changed the carb counting to total minus fiber since fiber isn't digested nor metabol;ized in any manner in the human body. AND NL woo hoo woo hoo looking at your little bitty body looks like ADBB is one place that 1 in 10 folk keep it off doesn't aply.
